Hi guys wondering if someone maybe able to advise me.. basically I'm 21+2, my first pregnancy and having a baby girl! I have an anterior placenta and high bmi :( and while every scan and doppler session I've had baby seems to be very active I haven't felt a single movement. Should I be concerned or has anyone experienced something similar? Any help would be much appreciated.. thank you :) xx

I was the same, and actually asked a very similar question.

I didn't feel any movement until 22-23 weeks, at which point you could see them from the outside. I went from feeling nothing to feeling and seeing everything.

It's unnerving knowing that everything's ok, even though you can't feel it, but bear with it.

Do you have a midwife appointment coming up? I think the guidelines say if you haven't felt anything by 23-24 weeks then to contact them so it can be normal! I have an anterior placenta but have been feeling movement since 18 weeks, it can depend on how the baby is lying etc..it's still small at this stage so can hide from us! X

I do but not until 24 weeks Happilymarried155 but just concerned that she's always so active on scans but I can't feel her :( kinda freaking me out a little xx

I couldn't feel anything until 22 weeks, & my baby was the same. So active on scans. Don't panic, as the others say, if you've not felt baby by 24 weeks let them know xxx

I have an anterior placenta and bmi of 21 before getting pregnant and I didn't feel anything until towards the end of 21 weeks and then he started to get stronger and stronger from then on. I'm 25+4 now and I don't think I feel all of his kicks still. When the midwife did the heartbeat at my last appointment I didn't feel one of the kicks that we heard. Think it's just a downside to having an anterior placenta!!

It's not always like that with an anterior placenta, I've been feeling it since 18 weeks, however I don't think you need to worry just yet. I think you will probably have a midwife appointment at around 24 weeks, if you haven't felt it by then speak to her :) sure it's all fine! X

My sister had an anterior placenta and was feeling my niece from about 18 weeks too, but it's definitely more common not to feel baby until later with a anterior placenta. Plus if it's your first it's hard to recognise some of the smaller movements.

I'm 38 weeks with an anterior placenta and didn't feel anything until 25 weeks or so...now she never stops!! lol

I have a reasonably high bmi (32), small bump and long baby so thought I'd feel it loads as it's probably a bit squished. I only felt it now and again weeks 19-21 when it was quiet and I wasn't doing much (usually lying in bed at night/early morning )and even then it didn't actually feel like a baby moving. I'm 22 weeks and only noticed it more the past few days, even then it still doesn't really feel like a kick etc.
