Fed up of being treated like a medical problem waiting to happen!

I'm 40 years old, 35 weeks pregnant, and sick of being treated like I'm about to develop a medical problem any minute. I have been healthy the whole way through (though all of this makes me anxious and then I sometimes get slightly high blood pressure readings). Saw yet another different midwife today who just sees 'high risk' on my notes and thinks I must have something wrong with me. And then I get the 'you won't be allowed to go over' talk and told that my placenta is going to give up as soon as I get to 40 weeks, when there's only a slight increased risk of this happening and I've said that I will be monitored. Can anyone suggest how I can deal with this, as to be honest it's just making me upset and more anxious? Sorry for the rant.

Hmm I've been high risk due to kidney problems throughout this pg and tbh, I've felt reassured. It is like a magical passport to instant medical attention Grin but seriously, it makes me feel good that if there is any problem, it will be taken seriously.

But if it's bothering you? I'd take charge. When you go into an appt, say at the start "you will see it says high risk on my notes. That's because of x (your age??). I am planning on being monitored after my due date but won't go for induction unless there's something wrong. Just so you know!"

Be bright and breezy but firm. They really just want to know you know the risks.

Thanks for the advice, I'm only classed as high risk because I'm just over 40, if I had a medical condition I would do whatever is necessary. Just getting fed up of having the same conversations over again with different midwives. The ones who I've seen before remember me as we've had various 'discussions'!
