When to stop aspirin at the end of pregnancy.

I was prescribed a daily dose of 75mg of aspirin at 12 weeks due to a high booking in blood pressure, my blood pressure has been totally normal ever since & I have no other problems with my health.
At my 34 week appointment my community midwife said she thought I should stop taking aspirin at 38 weeks but would check before my next appointment. At my 36 week appointment today I had a stand in midwife, not my usual one, who has now told me to take the aspirin until I think im in labour. Im now confused & have no idea who's advice to follow.
Has anyone else been on aspirin & when did you stop taking it?

My consultant said to stop at 36 weeks, but I didn't get that far.

36 weeks for me too. I had planned c-section at 38 weeks.

36 weeks for me too.

Um, I think it was 24 or 48 hours before a planned c-section.

I see a team of hospital MWs during pg so I may not have this all correct (I see a community team after labour), however if you have the same community MW I would have thought you could call or request a phone call to clarify. If you can't call her directly, do you have the community MW team number and you could leave a message or ask the team coordinator?

I take low dose aspirin throughout all pregnancies due to family medical history, I am low risk and planning for vaginal birth. In my first pregnancy I had to stop aspirin at 38wks, I'm now in my second pregnancy and I have been told to continue right up until I think I'm going into labour (ie early labour/first twinges). Both times the advice has been from my consultant haematologist.

36 weeks for me too (following pre-eclampsia in previous pregnancy)

Thank you ladies, seems everyone gets different advise. I'll try & contact my usual midwife tomorrow or the hospital & see what the consultant says.

Sorry to hi-jack the thread OP SweetPea3 did you find the aspirin helped as I had PE in first pregnancy and anxious in-case it might reoccur this time round. Had my booking in appointment today and midwife said I would be monitored more closely but have read about the aspirin theory and wondered if I should ask more about it?
