Evening...
I hope there are some other insomniacs out there to put my mind at ease...
I'm 27+4 and was woken up tonight by what I can only describe as a seizure... Solid kicking and thrashing for at least 10 minutes (well for what I was awake for anyway!)
I've googled and looked on other forums and some people say it can be a sign of distress... But then these people are referring to more kicks than usual and not the onslaught I had!
He did calm down eventually and I have felt some little kicks since but just want to make sure I don't need to be worried so maybe I can get some sleep!! Smile

Thank you lovely ladies

Insomniac here reporting for duty!

When I was pregnant with my first, every now and again she would go berserk, it felt like full on thrashing, with really rapid movements, almost like a fit. Midwife said it was all very normal and not to worry.

Try and get some sleep and see how you feel in the morning. If you're still worried, give your midwife a call.

I'd give your MW a call. I recently read on the count the kicks FB page that all movements should be reported if your concerned. I just thought it was if you hadn't felt enough so I'm glad I read it.

It's probably more likely your baby has flipped over. I remember getting quite the kicking from the inside one night. I remember getting out of bed and doing the belly sway thing to try and make him sleep Grin

Turned out he had turned until he was breech. There's probably still some room . to turn back, I know mine did before the birth but it was still an uncomfortable experience.
