Ok so I wasn't sure where to post this but was looking for some clearance. It is a little strange! I keep having weird dreams that my baby is someone else's (even though I'm a million % that he's my partners) it happens to always be the same guy in the dream too!
It's freaking me out a hell of a lot!
I know this is probably a weird thread but I needed to tell someone Confused

I had some very weird dreams whilst pregnant too, Emma. I have pretty vivid and sometimes weird dreams anyway, but I had some strange pregnancy-related ones.

I suspect that it is the subconscious's way of processing all the information we are bombarded with during pregnancy, along with the worries and concerns that niggle at us.

When I am anxious about something, I have dreams where things are going wrong for me, and I can't make them go right - and often the thing that is going wrong doesn't actually have much to do with what I am actually worrying about - for example, I will dream I am back at university and it is half way through the term, but I don't yet have my time table for all my lectures, so I have missed lots of them. Or I am trying to ring someone, but cannot dial the number without making a mistake.

So I would guess that you aren't actually worried that the baby is someone else's, but that you are naturally concerned and worried in the same way that most of us are at one time or another whilst pregnant (it is a huge responsibility to be growing a whole new human being, and knowing that you will be responsible for raising them too), and your subconscious has added that to something you've seen on TV to produce a dream that is helping you process your anxieties.

Congratulations on your pregnancy - my dses are 17, 19 and 21, and the lovely, squidgy baby stage seems an awfully long time ago! You have got so many wonderful things to look forward to, and I wish you a happy, healthy pregnancy, a stress free birth and happy motherhood!

I have had this a few times.

I recently dreamt I didn't know who the father was, it could have been either a random young man I'd just met, or my ex (split up more than 10 years ago but weirdly I dream about him loads). I knew in the dream that I shouldn't have been with either of them.

I woke up and remembered DH with huge relief and a massive sense of guilt for forgetting him- of course he's the only person I've been with in nearly 8 years!

Like SDTG says, sounds like a typical anxiety dream- I have the exact dreams about university she describes really regularly.

Don't worry about the dream, it's not unusual but I know it does make you feel quite unsettled when you wake up. I felt really guilty about it!

It is really easy for emotions from dreams to spill over into real life - even though we know, logically, that dreams are not real.

I have, on a couple of occasions, dreamd that dh has been really horrible to me, to the point where I was sobbing in the dream - and when I woke up, I was really cross with dh! I almost wanted him to say sorry for how he'd acted in my dream! Blush

I think hormones can make your dreams go a bit weird. Last time I kept having really sexual dreams about loads of men I'd met but had never ever thought of in that way for even one second. Sometimes I woke up thinking I'd really slept with them! - In reality I've only ever been with 2 guys, my first, when I was at school and my now DH, from college.

This time I'm getting nightmares about people I love dying. The worst part is when I wake up, I think its really happened. Not nice.

strange, super realistic dreams were one of my first pregnancy symptomsâ?¦ The other day i dreamt i gave birth prematurely through a kangaroo pouch in my tummy and the baby gradually turned into a cat in my arms. it had very sharp claws, so i decided not to put it back to cook a bit longer, i didnt mind having a cat instead. i dont think that has too much bearing on real life!
