I was prescribed it for my eczema. Someone mentioned not using steroids whilst pregnant. I couldn't find anything on line about it.

Steroids are safe in pregnancy, I get them injected for my arthritis.

Hello,
Steroids applied to the skin are usually considered to be okay to use in pregnancy, but it is probably best to use the smallest effective amount , especially as the steroid that you are using is a 'potent' one.

This is because some studies have suggested that steroids taken by mouth in early pregnancy (first 12 weeks) may be linked to cleft lip and/or palate (CL/P) in the baby. It should be stressed, however, that the link has not been confirmed, and if there is a link, the risk is only slightly increased and most babies born to women taking steroids do not have CL/P. Steroids applied to the skin usually only enter the bloodstream in very small amounts (although this can be increased if the skin is broken), and so the amount that will reach the baby is only a tiny fraction of that that a baby of a mum taking oral steroids would be exposed to, and is unlikely to cause a problem.

If you have concerns, you should speak to your GP, as it is obviously important that your eczema is correctly treated.

Hope this helps
