Could she be pregnant?

Me and my fiancée have only recently started trying to conceive and we've done a few tests but they've all been negative.

We've only had unprotected sex twice, on the 28th and 29th of September. Her period was due on the 6th of October so we figured we missed ovulation but thought we'd try anyway.

A few days later and she started feeling some symptoms - having random nausea, had some stomach pain, night sweats and occasionally felt very faint. It seemed very early but also a bit of a coincidence! We tried a test 4 days before she was due and it was negative - not a huge shock seeing as it was literally just 3 days after! We also did an ovulation test after the pregnancy test (I bought a couple clear blue ones that day) just out of curiosity, and we could say a faint pink line - so it seems like she may have been fertile when we had sex.

Yesterday morning, on her due date, we tried a test again but it was negative - disappointing but not too surprising. That morning she developed very intense stomach pain that was very similar to menstrual cramps, which usually happens within an hour of coming on. That subsided, but she did not start her period, and still hasn't.

We're a bit wary of trying another test so soon just to be disappointed again, but we're also extremely excited and hopeful! So I'm just wondering if the symptoms described above point to a likely pregnancy, especially the ovulation test? When we should we take another test?

Thanks!

Give it 2-3 days, then if period doesn't arrive, try another test. All the symptoms could have been down to a tummy bug or something. But, I felt very similar before testing positive. Including the sore, period type pain - which lasted more than a week for me.

She could have her due date wrong?

You seem very involved. I get that you are excited/nervous but, for some people, getting pregnant takes ages. Does your partner actively ask you to be involved in keeping track of dates etc? As I'd find it a bit much personally - but that's just me.

The worst thing you (both) can do is start symptom spotting & stressing about it. It will not help in any way & stress can be unhelpful for fertility.

I'd be zipping up my ovaries under that kind of relentless pressure. Give the woman some space, it's not a no foal no fee situation (hopefully).

Give the guy a break! You don't know their situation, she may want him to do all the hard work Wink.
Chris, like a pp said wait a few days and if it still hasn't turned up take another test. It can take a while however as you have possibly read it can be the first go as well. Hope you are successful :)

I would be trying not to symptom spot, but failing! You can get cheap preg tests online or in shops like wilcos, maybe stock up if ttc as it can become obsessive!! You are understandably anxious and excited, but try not to get too worked up - there is always next month! Good luck and enjoy this special time.

I would agree try not to symptom spot (its really hard not to i am aware) Wait a few days as it might take a while for her hormone levels to increase enough to be detected on the test (some women take longer for the levels to go up)
Just keep enjoying the sex part and hopefully it wont take you too long.
I had lots of cramps myself for about a week (which i never got pre period) so i started to wonder if something was going on. It was a week after the cramps started that i got a very very faint positive. I was lucky and got pregnant at the first attempt but was very prepared for the long haul (had even told hubby that it would take at least 6-9 months to get pregnant.....imagine his shock 2 weeks later)
