Oh im so sorry your skin is causing havoc. I have found my skin and eczema have never been better since getting pregnant. I hope someone with some experience can help!

What do you normally use for your eczema?
I've been using epaderm and hydramol ointment along with aveeno cream.

A few times have used steroid tablets and steroid creams that the dr has prescribed.

Haven't used steam cream myself and don't really know anything about it. I tend to stick to the creams I am prescribed as am sensitive to some ingredients in most products.

I have found I react to all my normal creams, and my GP said if poss to avoid hydrocortisone cream in pregnancy. I even reacted to olive oil on my skin!!! Worse reactions than normal to soap/shower gel, dog hair, anything really. Ended up using own brand supermarket baby head to toe wash, and otherwise the best solution so far has been to wear close fitting long sleeves, long trousers and socks at all times - washed in Persil non-bio (which suits me, you just need one that suits you!). My hands aren't great but I'm managing - found an own brand Tesco moisturiser that doesn't make me react so using that.

Good luck - keep trying until you find something that works, and cover up so less allergens reach your skin.

In our local Tesco's superstore they have testers of it open so that could be a way to try a bit - I liked how it felt and smelt but the bit I tested didn't help or hinder me any more than my normal creams. After the first trimester don't worry so much about essential oils (apart from Clarity Sage) as they would need to be VERY potentant AND neat to even perhaps do anything adverse and most products with essential oils are well past this (even those that are claiming to be 100% natural etc)

My eczema didn't get better during pregnancy and my tummy is bad and itchy but I've just stuck to creams that suit me and Bioil for some reason has been helpful.

thanks for the advice. i got some testers of dream cream from lush and have a sample of aveeno coming in the post. will just keep trying until i find one that works. cheap emolient does nothing for my skin neither does e45 unfortunatly. me and my 2 dc's have eczema. but ds's double base did nothing for my skin either Sad
