Hi all, just wondered if you wouldn't mind sharing your vitamin popping routine!
I'm 24 weeks and have just started taking extra calcium (cos it's not in pregnacare) but I've read your shouldn't take calcium and iron at the same time to aide absorption.
Does calcium at breakfast, pregnacare with lunch and calcium again with my evening meal (they are the twice a day sort) sound ok?

to be honest, with looking after the animals (2 cats, 6 horses), a toddler and going to work, I'm just happy if I remember to take them at all during the day.

Eat a balanced diet, vitamins are really just to supplement that really. You sound as if you are organised :)

I've started taking mine in the morning as I've been having trouble sleeping if I take them mid afternoon /evening time. It's really up to you, based on your meal times and how you react to supplements. :)

I take mine after my dinner, they tend to make me a bit queasy if I have them earlier in the day. I'm combating the sleep thing with the Andrew Johnstone hypnotherapy relax app.....

I am amazed, the way you are organised. In fact, you are right, timing of day matters when it comes to calcium supplement. But it also depends on type of calcium, daily dose and your regular prescriptions, if any. It is a good idea to keep different times for calcium and zinc/magnesium/iron supplement so as not alter their absorption pattern.
If it calcium citrate, you can take it with or without food. If it is calcium carbonate, you should take it with food, to enhance its absorption. You can take it in the morning and evening, just make sure, you divide into smaller doses (
