Spinning babies website... A good alternative?

Am I the only one who finds this site really difficult to navigate and read? It appears to have some valuable information but I get so frustrated with the site I've given up on it.

Does anyone know of a good alternative?

It is hard to navigate, but it's the only one I've found.

What are you trying to look up?

The wording is so unnecessarily complicated. Like it has been translated badly from another language to English.

Essentially, I just want to know how to turn an oblique (breech) baby. I'm concerned that some of the techniques could turn the baby into a more transverse position.

Paranoid pregnant moment: Do you think it's possible by using these techniques to wrap the cord around the babys neck?! I know that's probably a ridiculius question but it's putting me off doing anything too drastic like the inversion lie!!

Ridiculous

Er, no, I don't think you can do that.

I think that the main thing is inversions. Get your DP (or a friend) to support you. Kneel on a bed or something, walk your hands forward onto the floor. Stay there for a short period. Straighten up.

I was also told forward rolls in the swimming pool can help. Doubt they did, but I had fun Grin

bellyrub that's why I didn't do it I was too paranoid my consultant told me to get on all fours with my bum in the air but there was no evidence it works I did it a few times but I just knew she wouldnt turn she was too comfy and I didnt seem to have the room, she was delivered by section after I went in to labour

Bellyrub1980 · 05/10/2014 21:42

I'm 37 weeks now so guess I have plenty of time.

I've done all fours, bum in the air, all fours off a sofa (knees on sofa elbows on floor) forward leaning in sitting with knees higher than hips.

Also lots of breast stroke swimming.

This baby will not budge!!

I think the only thing left is the backwards/upsidedon lying thing on the ironing board. But I think is need about 3 people to help!! Lol

Moxibustion worked for us! We found out he was breech at 34 weeks. They told us he wouldn't turn now as there was no room left. We bought some (smokeless) moxa sticks from a Chinese herbalist and you have to burn them at the corner of the little toe every day at "bladder time", which if I remember correctly is between 3 and 5 pm. I think this is an acupuncture things. Good luck!

UpUpAndAway123 · 06/10/2014 05:30

My baby turned footling breech at 36 weeks (I'm 39 tomorrow). I have literally tried everything from the spinning babies website and still breech!
After speaking to lots of women whose babies turned spontaneously late on without doing anything, I am of the mind that if baby will/can turn then they will do so on their own accord. However the techniques won't hurt and give you the feeling that you have some control over things.
My homebirth is now an elective section tomorrow.....unless scan in the morning shows baby has turned and I will be sent on my way Grin
Good luck in turning OP x

I didn't find an alternative and I thought the site was unnecessarily hard to navigate.... But when I finally found the information it worked! The first time I upside down lying on a board thing it worked I felt my baby wiggle round and he's now head down and startling to engage.

I used the base board of the cot and me and dp managed to do it just the 2 of us. I was 36 weeks at the time but my baby is big so there wasn't a huge amount of space for him to turn.

Good luck!Thanks
