I really want to know people's experiences with induction!! I am going for one tomorrow morning at half 8 and I'm very nervous and every hour that goes by I get excited and more nervous haha! But I'd prefer good experiences please!!! Thank you

Hope it goes brilliantly for you. I went in to be induced with dd, there was a lot of waiting about as the ward was very busy. luckily for me I went in to labour naturally whilst waiting so no real experience of induction but I did have drugs to speed up labour with ds. This definitely made the whole experience more intense but was nothing I couldn't handle. How exciting, you'll meet your dc within the next day or two!

Congrats! I was induced in January, ten days after my due date. I went to the hospital in the afternoon and was brought to a ward where baby's and my heartbeat were monitored for half an hour. Well it should have been half an hour, but was more like three because baby's heart rate was all over the place. I got the pessary around 7pm,had some dinner, watched the Bake Off on my iPad, did some reading, slept for maybe half an hour... I was the only person in the four bed room and could easily have been bored, but realising this was my last time for quiet rest for months made me appreciate the time. Had another pessary around 1am. At 4am I heard a pop, felt a lot of pressure, went into the toilet, and my waters broke. They were green (as expected being overdue) so around 5am I called my husband and we went down to the birthing room. Because of baby's erratic heart rate I had a c section at 12:30. I now have the most perfect little boy and the induction and c section are just a brief part of his long story. The most important thing is for you and baby to be healthy and get off to a strong start. I found it best to accept that and not think about what an "ideal" birth would have been like. Enjoy your little one!!!

Hi,
Good luck and I remember how nervous and excited I was before mine!

I have been induced twice due to going overdue. Both times have been a good experience and having never given birth naturally I have nothing to compare it too!

I've had pessarys both times and then had my waters broken. Dd was 4hrs and 20mins established labour and ds was 1.5hours.

The best advice I can give is too relax and not tense up and look forward to meeting your baby!

I'm expecting number 3 so it couldn't have been that bad lol!
Good luck Smile

Aw thank you everyone!! Put my mind at ease a little bit I'm glad everything is okay with all your children! This is my first, I have seen my sisters after labour and it really put me off :/ as I seen my sister in January I was saying to her I never want a baby and fell pregnant haha sods law! I have sorted everything today as I won't be home till after I've had the baby and I'm now sat watching come dine with me making time for myself lol! Xx
