I've just found out (completely unexpectedly that I'm pregnant for the third time. My youngest daughter is 5 and the eldest 7. This is such a shock for my husband and I (he also has 2 sons from a previous marriage). He has been very calm but says termination is an option as we have 4 kids already and he's worried about there being such a big age gap between new baby and 5yr old. I really don't what to think, so confused. Has anyone any advise or experience on such a situation.

hmmm, I know that feeling too, littlejem, dp was away all week except for wed nights when dd was a baby, now it's not all the time but he's still away a lot. Hasn't been home since monday morning, driving back from scotland at the moment, and has to be in a meeting at 8am! I know he's exhausted and so am I. It is a strain, sigh, but at least it's a good job I suppose. But, like you say, we're so knackered by the weekend we've just ended up arguing all day recently, there's a real pressure to have a nice 'family' day when the week is hectic, often doesn't work out like that! He has a week off in October, I suggested a luxury family hotel with a spa, grounds to cycle in, and a kids club. He suggested re-wiring the house, which I suppose is more important! I have booked a pre-natal massage next week though

I see DP when possible but sometimes six weeks in between as he's in the army too and has the usual tour ect.

It is hard hun, but I was told by someone earlier today that its your head thats telling you that maybe it isn't such a good idea but it's how you feel deep down that counts and how you felt when you first realised you were pregnant. I felt happy and was dancing round the bathroom although it was a complete shock n half.

How did you feel the first moment?

I guess deep down I was really pleased (I hate to fail a test). But the reality soon hits. DH got home at 12.30 last night and left again 5.20am, so still no talking.
