Just want to find what people have chosen, or what they think are good ones i like the SilverCross Wayfarer Pram System but only went to look at some today wanted to find out what other ladys options are.

Also are you buying all separate or a full travel system?

We've got a loola up. We went to try a few out in a shop as DH is quite tall. It was the one that adjusted to both our hand heights and he didn't kick as he walked. I liked the parent facing option on it. But it is pretty heavy and I am concerned that it won't fit in my new car. Off to google uppababy just in case it would suite us better for DC2.

AnythingNotEverything · 27/09/2014 22:42

The Uppababy is great. I'm the only one of my NCT group not to have switched to an umbrella fold due to dissatisfaction with their pricy pram.

Think really hard about what you need the pram for. Where will you be walking? Will you mostly be in and out of the car or will you be walking the dog through woodland? If you find a pram that suits your needs then it will be much better value.

Re: car seats - isofix plus base is safest. Car seat (maxicosi cabriofix for example) can slot on the isofix base or be secured with the seatbelt. Lots of prams have adapters for car seat now but you do need to check compatibility. This first seat is from birth to 15 months, but I couldn't lift DD in and out after 6 months. The ability to fix car seat for wheels is great for nipping I to shops without waking the baby but remember that it's not great for baby's back to spend more than a couple of hours in there at a time.

Specifically brilliant things about the Vista are the sun shield, the huge basket, the adjustable handle ... It's great. And the carrycot is suitable for nighttime sleeping which is great for keeping downstairs or for travelling.

Oh, and if you sign up to Boots baby or parenting club, you get 10 points per pound on all baby purchases.

Loveallmyboys · 27/09/2014 22:53

I had the quinny buzz last time and absolutely loved it! So light and easy to push-even with one hand! But alas, there isn't a double available so this time we opted for the icandy apple2pear. Got it second hand for £350 off gumtree. Absolute bargain as it's the newest model and is in vgc. Pays to shop around. Went for the apple as my 2.5yo doesn't like to walk very far and still likes a nap.
Good luck! It's a travel-system minefield out there!

Jellyrollgumdrop · 27/09/2014 22:58

I had a Mutsy ...loved it...maxi cosy car seat...Mutsy carrycot& pram seat.....even the wheels come off!

Jellyrollgumdrop · 27/09/2014 23:03

Just had a look & Mutsy very similar to uppababy!

doubleshotespresso · 27/09/2014 23:04

We plumped for the Silvercross Wayfarer Travel system and could not be more pleased with it. Each component is brilliantly designed, lightweight and all transforms easily from wheels, to car etc. have also received lots of compliments when out n about too which I had not at all anticipated. Could not recommend highly enough.

Also highly recommend booking an appointment in a John Lewis store, their advice is sound and has proved to be spot-on in terms of requirements and quality.

Sorehead · 27/09/2014 23:38

If anyone is planning to buy the Silver Cross Wayfarer, our local Mothercare has a deal on at the moment where you get a free Silver Cross Simplicity car seat thrown in....I'm guessing this is a national promotion.

LifesUPandLifesDOWN · 28/09/2014 01:25

I'm going to be getting the Silver Cross Wayfarer full system. But need to save up for it

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 28/09/2014 08:37

We have brought a stokke xplory this time it's second hand but wanted some high up. We had a quinny buzz last time and liked that also.

Only1scoop · 28/09/2014 08:39

Stokke xplory here also both tall so just perfect.

cheshirem2b · 28/09/2014 08:58

We've ordered the uppababy vista on recommendation from a friend and from visiting shops/online research. It looks great and when folded it stands itself up so no marks on walls.

WftsC · 28/09/2014 09:04

Just bought Uppababy vista - am
pleased with all these reviews!

A few friends have this one, and after babysitting and travelling with them and my Dsis x 2 (neither of whom have an Uppababy), I was complete sold by:
The fact you can push and turn it with one hand;
The size of the basket - it really matters!;
The fact the carrycot can be used overnight, as we travel a lot;
The sunshade - again, so handy.

Quick note to you all - they are bringing out a brand new version in Jan, though, so if you can wait, it may be worth it! (I am due in a couple of weeks, so have gone with the current version).

John Lewis were brilliant, and prove matched one we found online for cheaper, so I am v happy!

WftsC · 28/09/2014 09:04

*price-matched

bellaboo88 · 28/09/2014 09:08

I love wayfarer but pioneer has got me now...found a guy selling returned/reconditioned ones for half the price with guarantee. Its a gamble but I don't mind, they're still perfect in spanking condition.

X

mammycampbell · 28/09/2014 16:01

i love my stokke xplory - bought for DS1 in Sept 2012 and still love it now he has just turned 2. It was the height that clinched it for me. I love having DS up high and chat away to him as we go along even when he was way too young to understand me / busy gnawing Freddie Firefly / fast asleep :) It doubled as a moses basket downstairs early on and a high chair now he's older if they are all taken when we are out & about. This doesn't happen as often as their marketing campaigns might suggest but it has come in handy.

I should say, i bought it secondhand on ebay for around £260 though, there are some real deals to be found there, £1000 new was a bit steep for me.

DC2 coming in december - am looking at buggy boards as i don't want to give up the Xplory!

as for the travel system element - it has adapters to fit a Maxicosi Pebble car seat, and I had an ISOFIX Familyfix base so just clicked in and out of the car an on to the frame. V handy.

FrogsGoWaaa · 28/09/2014 18:46

Ooh thank you WftsC I hadn't noticed a new Vista was coming out. uppababy.com/2015sneakpeek/vista/

Uppababy Vista is currently the front runner after playing with a friend's last week. They are really, really popular in the US and most people only have positive things to say about it. The new one looks pretty similar but with much more thought put into adding a second child which hopefully we will doing. It's a bit annoying that they're adding $100 to the price but it is still better value than the Bugaboo Chameleon. It will be interesting to check out the sunshade and see if they've changed the design as it's the one problem I had with it. I have very small hands and found it quite tricky to press the two buttons either side and pull it up at the same time. They're saying it'll be out November/December in the US and are already taking orders. Will feed back when I've been able to have a play! Not sure if it will be the same in the UK but unfortunately due to the popularity, they're not reducing the price of the old model in the US so no chance of a bargain there. They will be selling it next year under the name Legacy without the carrycot as standard. It will then reduce in price. mbeans.com/UPPAbaby-2015-Legacy-Stroller-reviews-and-comparisons-USA-release

Has anyone got/had a play with the Bee3? I think the carrycot looks a bit odd but it is smaller and lighter than both the others which could work in its favour as I'm small.

tomanyanimals · 29/09/2014 07:16

Personally I love the city mini its robust has an excellent hood which is brilliant on sunny days aswell as rain as so big. Can take it across fields or just round town and there is no difference you can get a carrycot but not needed and it fits a car seat but can't remember which one easy to out up and down as its one handed on a strap you just pull the strap and it's down I couldn't afford it this time so went for a mother are three wheeler one which is nice but it is heavier but I go through fields everyday checking horses so I do need a robust one.

lisaloulou84 · 29/09/2014 07:39

I've got a bugaboo bee and would really recommend it. The main reason for buying it is that I live in South London and use the bus a lot and the bee I'd really narrow and easy to get on and fit the wheelchair/buggy area.

I also have to carry it with baby in up a flight of stairs which is easy as it's so light! It folds down really easy and has a massive basket and really easy to push one handed.

I went to an independent pram shop having been set on the wayfarer but the salesman listened to what I wanted and recommended the bee and he was totally right!

I do like the look of the bee 3, just because the seat is a touch softer and the harness is a bit better but I wouldn't bother with the carrycot bit, it's a bit ugly and the cocoon was really good, plus they're only in it for such a short space of time.

PeppermintInfusion · 29/09/2014 11:08

I got a Jane Trider, after initially wanting the uppababy vista or Quinny. It's not one I would have considered unless recommended (just not on my radar). Like other pp Definitely recommend trying a few independent shops as I found them much more helpful, and they really listened to what I'd be using it for, than the department stores which seemed too focused on pushing the big name brands like bugaboo. They also seemed more inclined to discount, eg I got last season's colour (about 2 shades different to the current season) with several hundred off.

Rawls · 29/09/2014 11:34

the Maclaren Techno XT is honestly the best thing we ever bought. DC3 will go straight into it.

skyra13 · 29/09/2014 14:04

My problem is trying to actually fit something into a citron c2 boot!

Does anyone have a small boot space?

THINKING I NEED SOMETHING SMALL lol or a new car!

stargirl1701 · 29/09/2014 14:08

We bought a Stokke Xplory with seat and carrycot. We use the Maxi-Cosi car seat. 2 years on and it's still fantastic. We got the buggy board for DD1 now DD2 has arrived. Brilliant.

The V4 has locking front wheels which is a great improvement over our V3.

Artandco · 29/09/2014 14:12

Skyra- get a babyzen yoyo newborn. Folds small enough for handluggage! Plus parent faces in newborn stage, light, cosy for baby. Look on YouTube to see how it folds

OooOooTheMonkey · 29/09/2014 22:28

Skyra the bugaboo would fit in my polo but I had to take a wheel off. Was quite easy but I got a bigger car!! Uppababy vista is even bigger frame. If you go to mamas and papas (probably most stores do this but m&p definitely do) they let you try the fit in the boot of the car Smile
