3 or 4 wheelers?

Hi, 1st time pregnant and going to buy a buggy in the next few weeks and wanted some advice. I intend to get back into running as soon as possible and was wondering whether anyone had any experience of whether it is best to do this with a 3 or a 4 wheeler pushchair? I know that you seasoned mums are probably laughing at me saying i'll run, but I don't want to give myself an excuse by getting the wrong kind of buggy.
Any advice please?????

I'm not knocking your plans to run (good luck to you!) but I think you might also want to consider other stuff. For me, the key things were how small the buggy folded and can you do it easily, with one hand, with a screaming baby in the other hand, in the rain, whilst double parked? With my friend's three wheeler you need to remove the wheel to fold it down small enough for the boot, which is a real faff. It's also v big for travelling on public transport, and not that manouverable (sp?) round small shops. I suppose the question is how much time are you going to spend running compared with shopping, driving etc.

My cheap four wheeler (Graco, from Mothercare) is really good on all those things, but not robust enough for running -not that I've tried, but I do quite a lot of walking, and I find a backpack better for anything off roads. It certainly can't manage many of the footpaths that my friend's Trenton three wheeler can handle.

Hers looks a lot nicer than mine though

i have a mountain buggy terrain with handlebar extension and run with it 3 times a week and have done since this baby was 6 weeks old - now 9 months. its brilliant - does the job really well, cant recommend it enough. get the handlebar extension if you are 5 7 or more as it give you good position and extra stride length when running

Thanks, I'll look into that rosylizzie. I have also taken on board your comments PinkyRed, obviously need to give some serious thought to day to day life. Guess DH could always babysit whilst I ran

would you be interested in a secondhand babyjogger clairegp? You'd have to have it as a second pushchair/buggy as it doesn't recline and is too big for the shops/supermarket etc but it's a proper running pushchair with a brake and safety wrist strap.
So only worth considering if you are serious about running with your tot (safe in the babyjogger from about 6 months).
I used it regularly with my first child but haven't used it hardly at all with my second due to injury (mine, not my childs)
