Shamelessly looking for ideas Grin

I've spent such a happy day on Pinterest, and I'm thinking of mint, with pink and cream accents. We're having twins but we don't know the genders.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Oh yes, I loved those H&M vests with DD!

We were both hopeless too. Someone gave us a star shaped blanket thing- there was no chance of us being able to work that out Grin

That sounds gorgeous mrsgrumble. Did you make your own bunting?

Sounds lovely Mrs Grumble!!

Ours is white walls, grey carpet (like our own bedroom). Have carried on the grey theme and added a bit of yellow. We know we're having a boy but I didn't want it to be gender specific. Plus I figure I'll be spending most of the time in there for the first year so I wanted to like my surroundings!

We have a white cot & changing table, a wooden & white child-size dresser which I reclaimed from my mum and got restored, and a grey mid-century wing chair (also blagged off mum - she bought it in 1976 at a garage sale for $25!) which I'm recovering in grey velvet.

Have this cushion to go on the wing chair: www.boltofcloth.com/shop/Cushion+Covers/Bolt+of+Cloth+Cushions/-WCC182.html

and roman/black-out blinds in this fabric: www.onlinefabricstore.net/images/products/LULSCYT_2.jpg

and have had these prints made up in yellow, charcoal and grey: wanelo.com/p/13783207/be-brave-little-bear-grow-wise-little-owl-woodland-nursery-decor-owl-nursery-wall-art-3-8x10-kids-decor-artwork-by-wallfry

I've also bought some outward facing book shelves - like these www.designeatplay.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/2-uneven1.jpg

which helps store books and decorate one wall - plus it's a good way to use up a difficult space behind the door.

I really need to stop spending money Blush

Ours is going to be a light duck egg blue with white and pale green accents. I'm thinking brown carpet, which I know sounds yuk but I saw someone else's and it looks really cosy and much more practical than cream. Not got as far as storage yet, though I have commandeered DH's chest of drawers which no longer fits in our room since we moved.

We painted our spare room mint green a few years ago knowing it would eventually be a nursery so it's staying like that. It has green curtains, a picture of some trees and green scatter cushions too.

We're going with a very subtle Harry Potter theme, I've got a black wooden sign with "PLATFORM 9 3/4" written on it and have spotted some vintage style Harry Potter travel posters.

We haven't moved into our new hours yet but I plan to do the walls a sort of vintage-y yellow (Farrow & Ball Day Room Yellow- haven't told DH the price!), with dark wooden nursery furniture.

We don't know Bean's gender but I'm hoping this will be suitable for girl or boy!

Ooh a HP theme would be excellent!

You could have a light switch like this!

Moomin wall decals. You are welcome Grin

LightTripper · 25/09/2014 23:30

We mainly got second hand furniture so it's a bit of a mismatch, but all white or warm wood, and then we've got green walls with these stickers. I am really happy with it!

Onto second baby and highly recommend changing light switches to a dimmer light fitting must do ours as moved last year as have on lowest setting during night :)

Our nursery is white has a cream n pine cot bed, a pine effect wardrobe n chest drawers n will get a bookcase n some shelves as use wicker baskets for muslins n bibs. Nappies etc go in top drawer of chest n changing mat on top.

LightTripper · 26/09/2014 09:58

Alternatively you can get a gro light or low wattage lamp to do nighttime nursery visits!

Seasidedolly · 26/09/2014 20:41

Love the light switch Hacked!!

Cullercoats88 · 26/09/2014 23:31

Ours is winnie the pooh. My OH had a winnie the pooh themed bedroom when he was little, and on the walls he had some hand drawn illustrations of the characters, his mom kept them and now they are in our baby's room. It's been great for my OH actually because he has totally taken the lead, and it's something that really meant a lot to him. We are having a DD but Winnie the pooh is loved by all!!
