Boob advice, not sure if this is a problem?

During my first trimester I didn't get any of the swollen painful breasts/nipples that every one talks about, I'm now 17+5 weeks and I've had sore boobs for the last two weeks and they are now super heavy, however I'm a little worried because they are always very warm to touch (much warmer than the rest of me) and they are flushed pink, I've also noticed they are getting a bit dimply at times (a bit like cellulite) but this comes and goes and isn't constant.

I have been wondering if the warmth and flushing colour is normal? Bit worried it might be an infection, but they are not rock hard, very hot or traffic light red so I have discounted that idea. Has any body else had this?

...also, my bump skin is always so cool to touch that it shocks me, I myself am not cold, but I worry if my bump should really be this cool (and that's under three layers of clothing)?

Thanks in advance.

Oooo, also forgot to ask. I've been buying bras every month for three months due to increasing size.... Why do they advise that you don't buy under wired? I'll die when I have to stop buying them and have saggy looking unstructured boobs.... I think that time will be soon :(

I think that sounds like they are gearing up for milk production. Is your bump cold by comparison to boobs ( which have increased blood supply close to skin surface) or to other parts of your body? Increased blood flow to uterus is pretty deep within abdomen.
you are not supposed to wear under wired bras because the underwire can press on breast tissue and cause mastitis or damage to milk ducts. I have nursing bras with special titanium under wires, or you can get one with a flexible channel that does the same job. try the site nursingbra- shop.com, they give good advice and have lots of pregnancy/nursing bras.

I think underwired are fine IF they fit properly. I've been wearing underwired throughout with regular fittings and still am at 39+4!

Mine always go through phases of being very hot when they're gearing up, it's weird but I wouldn't be concerned. I'm still wearing underwires at 39/2.

Just to put my 2 cents in. Been a bra fitter for 10 years and you would be amazed what some women's boobs do during pregnancy. I have had women who have not changed at all (up until milk comes in) and women who need a new bra every couple of weeks. It is a bit of a minefield. We recommend to go with the bra that feels comfortable and fits well. This may be a wired bra but you have to bear in mind that a wired bra needs to be changed much more often to make sure it fits properly. It can be an expensive option. Best way to tell on yourself is that there should be squishy boob in front of the wire (under your arm) and solid rib cage behind. As soon as it starts to feel like it is digging or you can feel squishy boob behind the wire, time to get a new one. x
