Last night I got the very first signs of thrush. Now I'm pretty certain that's what it is although watery discharge rather than thick. Itching like crazy. Should I wait until tomorrow to contact midwife? I'm 26+4

Go to the GP. That's where MW will send you anyway.

I wouldn't bother just go to the pharmacy or book in with gp she won't be able to prescribe you anything.
It's safe to use the pessaries but not oral tablets not sure if pharmacist will sell you them worth a try if not call gps surgery in the morning and see if the gp will do you a prescription.

I'd go and see a pharmacist today and see if they could give you anything.

I had a lot of light discharge for weeks plus itching like crazy (outside rather than inside). I didn't think it was thrush because the symptoms didn't match with what I associated with thrush so my first trip to the doctor (registrar as opposed to fully qualified and experienced doctor) resulted in a prescription for sudocrem to help the itching and no swab or internal examination. 1 week later and no change to symptoms. 2nd trip to see a different doctor and was checked more thoroughly. Prescription for pessaries and 3 days later everything was back to normal thank god, especially as I'm now 40+5
