Getting flu & whooping cough jabs at the same time

The next 2 clinics for the flu jab at my docs will roughly coincide with when I'm meant to have the whooping cough jab. The NHS site says it's fine to have them together, but I just wondered if anyone has any experience of this? I would have thought I'd get more side effects having them both at the same time...

You'll have 2 sore arms instead of one!

Generally speaking you probably won't feel any worse for having both - you may feel off colour for a couple of days, with a slight temperature, headache and feeling as if you're coming down with something. Your arms may be sore.

Having both together is unlikely to give you double the side effects so you may want to get it over with in one go as it were!

(Remember you can't have the whooping cough vaccine under 28 weeks but can have flu jab at any time in pregnancy).

I had them both together and felt awful a few hours later. I had to lie down as soon as DH could take over looking after my older DCs. I felt a bit of it the next day but was fine the day after.

I've never had either before or since so I don't know if it was one or other that made me feel so ill or whether it was the combination.

I wouldn't have both together again unless there was no other option.

I had them both at the same time. I didn't have any side effects at all. It was uncomfortable sleeping for a couple of nights though as I had a jab in each arm and both were a bit sore. Couldn't sleep on my front due to bump, not supposed to sleep on back - ended up sleeping propped up on pillows!
