24 weeks and overthinking or should I be worried?

This afternoon I caught the side of my bump on the corner of a book. I realise this sounds like I am being a bit ridiculous but it pressed into my bump and hurt. I didn't really think that much of it at the time but I've become increasingly aware of it. It feels like I've bruised it although I suppose it isn't helping that I keep rubbing it. I have felt movement since and I had an anti D injection last week after an ill-placed kick from my toddler. Am I overthinking and worrying or is this something I should be worried about?

I think you will be fine plus I'm sure the anti d lasts for a few weeks once given. Xx

Judging by how hard the sonographer was digging in at my scan yesterday (21 weeks) you can be pretty brutal with no ill effects. I know the book has a corner, but baby is still pretty well cushioned in there. I'm sure it's just you that's a bit bruised, and though it's not nice hopefully it will stop feeling sore soon.

40+5 here with three massive bruises on bump! Honestly, don't worry about it. At 24 weeks that's still early to feel regular movement. If you're worried obviously get in touch with the midwife but I really don't think you need to panic.

Don't worry about it, but if it's niggling then call your midwife just to hear her say the same.

I'm also 24 weeks and a bit, and passed out about four weeks ago at an auction. I landed will all my weight directly on the side of my bump with absolutely no ill effect to my little ponkle. HUGE bruise though.

As a teacher I also get battered by kids everyday in the corridors too who haven't 'accounted' for the space needed to pass my bump touch free.

I don't think a book will do any harm :)

Thank you - all so, so reassuring which I really needed when I was genuinely trying to assess whether I was being a bit OTT or was justified in being concerned. I rang my midwife in the end and was advised to have the anti D injection. Again. Best keep away from the books from now on... Grin

At 24 weeks I was sticking injections in the bump! :) As you say, you've got movement and anti d sorted. If you're worried ring the helpline on your notes though. They're always happy to talk things through.
