32 weeks - do I need to be concerned?

Not too sure if I need to be concerned but over the past 24 hours ive had lots of stabbing pains down behind my pubic bone, an ache across my back, and starting about noon today and still going isa sore pain under bump and a stronger ache down the left side. Two members of staff have said my bump has literally deflated over the course of my shift and work got so scared they sent ne home.

It doesnt feel like cntractions - I just ache / hurt intermittedly around stomach and back. But its been going since noon. Stabbing pains behind my pubic bone all of yesterday.

Back ache pernanantly since noon ish. On and off pains down the left side of my bump plus some soreness under my bump.

My work colleagues were concerned as they said my bump has reduced over the course of one shift - I argued that babies do "drop" so it could just be that.

I feel nauseus and can smell everything - jist today and yesterday.

It sounds like you've got some SPD and back ache from not taking it easy. Is your work very hands on or more sitting? You would know if you were having contractions. It sounds to me like your body is telling you to slow down!

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 28/08/2014 21:08

My work is sedentary - desk bound with a car commute of around 20/30mins either way. However I do shiftwork - anythi g from a 7am start to an 11pm finish (sometimes back to back!) so I have no regular sleep cycle and sometimes have four and a half hours sleep a nught between shifts.

What is SPD? I had a trouble free pregnancy with dd (apart from Streb B which only posed a problem in labour rather than the p

Ok I think it might be he has turned - can feel like a bearing down feeking inside, and maybe SPD from what ibe just gone and read.

Tried a bath and whilst its eased the edge off the pain, im finding it difficult to manouver/sit from lying down/lift a leg off the floor.

Sorry to hear you are in so much pain , SPD is symphis pubis dysfunction , it's very painful and condition which causes pelvic girdle pain .
Is baby still moving around ?
It wouldn't hurt to ring up and get some advice from your maternity unit though with what you've said about your bump x

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 28/08/2014 22:12

Yeah I have movement, which is reassuring. Have needed a wee about seven times in a row but nothing there so am assuming its head pressing down which is causing the "full bladder" feeling.

Have rang work to cancel my shift tomorrow, will call my MW in the morning and see if she wants to see me.

Your baby could have turned around so that it is sitting back to back with you - that can cause the deflated bump thing and could be putting pressure on your lower back. I've read that one of the ways you can tell is if your belly button area is squishy and indented rather than firmer and more stretched outwards. Does that sound familiar?

Sorry about the pain though - it's a nightmare getting comfortable in the last trimester. Take it easy if you can!

Get in to see a private Physio now for the pain. They will manipulate the joint back into place; the NHS won't touch you. I had this every 2 weeks for the remainder of my pregnancy and it was an immense help. Also try stabilizing the pelvis by placing a pillow between your legs when you sleep. And don't lift one leg ever. Get dressed sitting down, get in and out of your car with both legs at the same time.

Tipsykisses · 29/08/2014 14:35

How are you feeling today ?
Has the pain eased ?

capecath · 29/08/2014 16:03

Does sound like SPD. I had it for last 10 weeks or so with DS2. I think he was also lying very low much of the time, also peeing every 2 seconds.... Was rubbish. No issues like this with ds1. In anticipation now with no.3 due... Just take it easy as much as possible, not sure much can be done about it, or try that physio! X

Im feeling better as in less pain, but still quite "heavy". Baby is drfinetly a low layer -had excruciating rib pain with dd and havent had any of that with this one so he must he much lower.

Im in work this weekend, then off Monday and Tuesday so will see what the wrekend brigs whether I need to see anyone on Monday.

Hi glad to hear you're feeling better today. It probably isn't the case for you, but wanted to mention it just in case... pre term labour tends to start with lower back ache,.sometimes coming in waves. I learnt this after having my 32 weeker. I wasn't overly concerned by the waves of back ache i'd been having for a few days before my waters broke because I thought if it was contractions I'd have had pain in my abdomen. It felt very different to my subsequent labours. Hopefully and probably not the case, but perhaps worth bearing in mind - always worth being checked out if you you have any doubt x

OK so I generally rested for most of the day then dhs family came round. we sat round the dining table for a good 4/5 hrs and Im in agony again.

We have comfy dining chairs and I was up every 30mins or so to stretch/pee/get a brew so I did try to ensure I wasnt sat for too long, yet I now feel as though my pelvis is going to split in two.

Sad

I have four weeks of work left, followed by annual leave up til my due date, and Im wondering if I can maybe reduce my hours over the next four weeks so Im doing 4/5 hrs days (and being in agony still!! ) til my AL.

I sit all day at work. I can get up and stretch my legs but I dont have anything I can do on foot for a large portion of the day (not even sure if that would even help!)

Has anyone else reduced their hours?
