Ok... sounds daft but has been puzzling me... What should I wear to go to the hospital when I'm in labour? Should I be prepared for easy access and wear a skirt? Blush Or will in not really matter because I'll be getting into a nightie in a room beforehand? I know it sounds daft but I'm one of those annoying control freak planner types... Grin

Last time I wore leggings and a top. During labour just pants and a vest. This time I'm planning on leggings and top again. Easy to get on and off and black incase waters break in them. Also got a back up pair incase I need to change them.

I think it depends on the circumstances in which you go into hospital. Some people don't have time to change, or you might be put in a hospital gown.

In the end I went in for an induction. I think I planned for a long top and leggings so I could take the leggings off but not feel too exposed. Once things got moving I changed into a mid thigh length size 18 nightshirt so I was covered up when standing or when on the ball, but could open the front up for skin to skin.

I have packed an old big "beach cover up" for the MLU but will be going in prob in something comfy like a man's thirty and leggings. Spare clothes in the bag for after!

I'm going to wear a normal night dress that has seen better days for the actual labour bit - I guess I'll go to hospital in whatever I'm wearing at home. The night dress has spaghetti straps that pretty much are hopeless these days, but it's mid thigh so long enough that I don't feel exposed the whole time.

I'm also taking a crappy old baggy vest top in a similar state that I could wear in the pool if I get chance to use one.

I bought a sensible nightie for labour last time and had it there ready, but did almost the entire (long) labour in a skimpy fitted vest top, nothing on bottom half. I am woman hear me roar, or summat. I just didn't give a shit :)

Apparently that is one way to tell a woman is in active labour, she just takes all her clothes off Grin

I went in in jeans and top, but that was because I didn't have time to think and had my daughter 40mins after getting there!

I ad a long slow labour and jet wore my linen trousers and top. When I arrived at the hospital they asked me to change into my nightie. I had a long black maternity nightie.

Couldn't find any blank nighties with button front do I've ended up with two nice ones from M&S :( Do have a beach cover up but don't think that's got a wide enough neckline at the front. Might just take a pair of scissors to it when the time comes!

I was totally naked in the pool for my first and didn't have time to take my nighty off for the second, think I will wear a nighty for this one.

Unless you take it off you will probably end up throwing it away
