Is this your first?

Can't think of much you have missed.Smile

Powder isn't recommended though btw.

womaninthewildsofwales · 25/08/2014 17:15

Unexpected 4th lol! Been there and done it, I even bought a wipes warmer for the first :-D noted... Shall use the powder for me then- thanks!

Do you have bibs and muslins? DD goes through loads of both every day.

womaninthewildsofwales · 25/08/2014 17:22

A few bibs, 12 muslins- forgot about them :-)

OP posts:
ilovehotsauce · 25/08/2014 17:30

I would say muslins, more baby grows and a few more blankets (I have a small addiction to baby blankets)

womaninthewildsofwales · 25/08/2014 17:35

Am working on the basis that clothes will naturally accrue through supermarket whimsy buys and people offloading! Forgot that my first "crap I'm having another baby" purchase was a trolley full (yes 50) of the ikea 20p guest towels... Extra nappy boosting, general mop ups... Hormonal insanity at 7 weeksGrin also have a pack of pampers to get the free changing bag from boots, and a voucher for tens hire. Am having a home birth too if anyone has any suggestions on that; big shower curtain or tarp?? Midwife is providing pool.

womaninthewildsofwales · 25/08/2014 17:37

I was expecting a witty "Valium and a vasectomy" answer... You've all been far more helpful Grin

TheOriginalWinkly · 25/08/2014 17:41

Ikea sell towels for 20p??? What size are they?

I don't see maternity pads on your list. Witch hazel is amazing to soak your pads with to soothe your fanjo, so a couple of bottles of that. Lansinoh if you intend to bf.

PenguinsIsSleepDeprived · 25/08/2014 17:44

Wow, congrats!

For the home birth, strong torch or lamp with extension lead and a sieve.

wingcommandergallic · 25/08/2014 17:49

Oo great. Saves me making a list!
Do you need a bouncer or play mat type thing to put baby down on safely?

womaninthewildsofwales · 25/08/2014 17:57

Only tiny winkly... Slightly smaller than a tea towel :-) fab things though!

I have 2 packs of pads and then my washables (not everyone's cup of tea granted!) added to list: lanisoh and fanjo spotlight! The pool will probably have a sieve in the kit- it has a pump etc with it, will check. Always have witch hazel, tea tree and aloe gubbins about the place anyway so should be fine there!

womaninthewildsofwales · 25/08/2014 18:01

Wing commander: I bought a bouncy chair thingy (ultimate laziness- it bounces itself!) also have a spare carrycot for downstairs. Planning on leaving a playmat, I'll have a legitimate excuse to go mad in the January sales Grin with the last one, for the first 2 weeks I just used to bring the pram in and use that.

weebleswillwobble · 25/08/2014 18:02

A woolly hat or two?

BellaVida · 25/08/2014 18:06

Changing mat

PenguinsIsSleepDeprived · 25/08/2014 18:06

Oooh, posh round your way. Strictly BYOS (bring your own sieve) here.Grin

womaninthewildsofwales · 25/08/2014 18:09

Weebles: I have cotton hats from some of the sets I bought, can I get away with them and the pramsuit to start with? (I am relying on sales shopping and pressies- someone will knit hat and booties surely??)

OP posts:
womaninthewildsofwales · 25/08/2014 18:11

Re changing mat, have one bought in the same hormonal ikea shopping trip, will get more use from the wallabies one hopefully and towels :-)

OP posts:
womaninthewildsofwales · 25/08/2014 18:16

Why can they not afford a sieve up your way??? Would have thought it was an essential feature of the pool kit, what if you forget to BYOS???

To be fair we live in a hippy area in the hills, home births are not only the norm but expected- my nearest consultant unit is an air ambulance ride away! Midwives round here don't give 2 thoughts when you ask for a home water birth- it's just what they do lol so I hope the kit is fully functional and improved whenever someone makes a suggestion!

OP posts:
PenguinsIsSleepDeprived · 25/08/2014 18:45

They don't supply a pool either. Grin BYOP too.

womaninthewildsofwales · 25/08/2014 18:49

Ahh, that explains it :-) I didn't even ask; at my booking she just declared "right, you'll go around 37 weeks so we'll drop the pool kit and birth pack round at 36 weeks... I assume your oh is capable of filling it"
Grin

OP posts:
PenguinsIsSleepDeprived · 25/08/2014 18:53

Companies that hire/sell pools don't provide a sieve so tis a separate item to me.Smile How is he going to fill the pool from work? Confused

womaninthewildsofwales · 25/08/2014 18:58

His mum can put the water in, he can blow it up and get everything in the right place! Believe me it's easier, last time an hour after birth I was making tea stitch-less while he was having his head repaired and receiving concussion advice from the local GP he can stay at work, it's safer for all involved- what happens if he's off work is a mystery, but I assume the shed might suddenly require tidying lol!

OP posts:
womaninthewildsofwales · 25/08/2014 19:00

Nursing bras!!!!

OP posts:
PenguinsIsSleepDeprived · 25/08/2014 19:21

Conversion clips off ebay are way better. One enormous nursing bra for first week or so. Then convert some bras.Smile

PenguinsIsSleepDeprived · 25/08/2014 19:22

Sniggering at the birth story btwGrin
