Last trimester drags like the first

The first trimester for me dragged past slowly. Not in a bad way, it just seemed forever to get to my scan at 13 plus 5.

Then my second semester flew, over in a blink of an eye.

Now I am at 32 weeks and I feel like I've been in my third semester forever. I think this is partly down to me now getting excited to meet the baby and partly due to sleep deprivation.

Does anyone else feel this way? October seems so far away!!!

Yes! I'm one week behind you and this has been my exact experience. Took forever to get to the 12 week scan then 12 to about 25 went in a flash now time seems to have stopped. I've still got six weeks at work and I feel like that's forever.

I don't want to add to your gloom but I think it's possible that October just isn't going to arrive this year. :(

Do you think October will just be skipped entirely?! Lol!
I probably shouldn't wish the next 8 or so weeks away, but I am so fed up of being heavy and heartburn and tiredness, that giving birth suddenly seems like the lesser of two evils ;)
I bet I end up overdue ;) xxx

Same. July took FOR-EV-ER. 34 weeks now. It's not speeding up!

By the time you get to your due date each day is like a year and you end up hating anyone who comes at 39 weeks. Or maybe that was just me Wink

Then you will find you can't remember anything at all from the first 4 weeks after birth...

I feel exactly the same! Must be something about this point in pregnancy if we are all feeling like this and all due in October.

The real cabin fever started kicking in for me at 37 weeks. Too big to do much except mooch around my local area and sitting in one position for more than about 10 minutes is extremely uncomfortable, so I can't concentrate on a book/tv show/my knitting. All of this leads to extreme boredom and frustration, which I am too fat and ungainly to do anything about.

One thing I have enjoyed though is going for a little evening drink with my husband before dinner. It gets us both out of the house for an hour and makes me feel human!

Sorry Ladies but it does not get any better lol i am now 39+4 an it is like every day is never ending! Trying to find things to fill the time is hard especially when u r 4/5's engaged an can feel her head pressing down wen ever your standing. Not to mention the constant period style pains and the morning sickness has returned lol

I have taken up loom band making and watching rubbish day time tv to try an waste time, also spend a lot of time on a birthing ball trying to speed her up. But it does not feel as if time is going any quicker lol

Oh god dylanandnoahsmummy what is WITH these period pains?! Also, thinking I need to poo several times a day only to get to the bathroom and realise it's his head/body pressing against my digestive system!

Swim. Every day... it's an effort to get there, but once you're in the water it's amazing. I don't care what I wear, or what I look like, I just want to be in the water. I use floats and just bob around. When I get cold I'm also naughty and go in the Jacuzzi thing, cos it's got jets of water from a height that fall on your shoulders.. like a free massage. Amazing. And I end up not wanting to get out because getting dressed is a faff... so by the time I DO get out, it's been ages and I've wasted half a day. Exactly what is needed! Half a day actually being comfortable.

Oh god the first thing I'm going to do on mat leave is go swimming! Toddler will still be in nursery 1-2 days a week and I can't wait. With toddler on my days "off" it just all seems impossible at the moment… I did do some yoga with her this morning but she climbed on my head and farted in my face.

And sympathy with the bathroom fiasco feel exactly the same lol although sorry to be crude i did go for a number 2 six times yesterday, again thought this it, as apparently your body clears out ready for labour, but sadly not.

Oohh didnt think of goin swimming might just have to go now. Thank u

I'm planning to swim everyday once I'm off. I'm lucky as the pool is only a ten minute walk away as well.

Report
Lalalax3 · 17/08/2014 14:35

A ten minute walk feels like an hour when you're 38 weeks, the baby's head is engaged deep into your pelvis and you have fanny daggers!

:(

I have a 30 min walk as part of my commute until I give up at 37 weeks! Maybe I'll need a couple of weeks of taxis, I'll have to see.

Totally agree! Am due in Oct but have started telling myself and others that it is due In Nov to mentally prepare myself for a longer wait!

Ooo swimming! Good idea!

Report
FirsttimerG · 17/08/2014 18:25

Good idea re the November due date!!
I am working until 37 weeks, but due to multiple eye surgeries I can't swim (water is full of nasties for eyes if they are scratched etc) so I will be bouncing up and down on my yoga ball willing her out from 40 weeks I think!!

My mum has just announced she's coming the week after he date (they live abroad) and that if I've not had baby by then she won't see her til they next come back in march.

No pressure then!!! Lol

30+2 and feels like I've now been pregnant forever!!!!! The last 2 weeks have dragged so badly and I hate the thought that I have another 10 weeks of being pregnant.

I'm just looking forward to finishing work in 4 weeks and being able to get on with all the prepping for baby arriving.

Also 32 weeks. I am so excited I feel like a child waiting for Christmas. I'm pretty nervous to though. Dreading labour!

8 weeks seems sooo long :(

I'm just entering the third trimester (at 30+1 today) and it's going by pretty quickly actually! I can't quite believe how the weeks fly by and the baby will be here in 10 weeks or so.

It helps that I've been (and will be) very busy - started a new job 2 weeks ago, now on annual leave for 2 weeks (fixed rota, no plans, just chilling at home) after which I've got 5 more weeks of work before maternity leave. Then we'll be moving in with the in-laws. Keeping myself busy with work, writing projects, teaching students, etc. And of course getting things ready for the baby and bonding with DH! It's a very happy time overall, and I'm trying to enjoy it as much as possible before it's over.
