Shooting pain in right breast?

Im 19.2 weeks pregnant & for the past two days ive had horrendous shooting pains in my right breast, its inside my breast and through my nipple as such? Ive googled it and all i can find is tenderness in the first trimester.

Im hoping its just growing pains but my breast has got all hard so i just dont know?

Anyone had this and is it normal? X

Could be the development of the milk ducts? I've had this in both my pregnancies, in this current pregnancy around the 20 week mark especially. I get random shooting pains and then my breasts feel hard and swollen. It's eased off now at 28 weeks and I just have leaking colostrum instead... Hmm. Breast tissue changes a lot throughout pregnancy.

Ah brilliant! I was getting worried thinking it could be somthing sinister. Its just the one breast at the minute. I hope i dont end up with one massive one lol. Thank you :) x

I'm getting the exact same thing!! I was thinking about posting too. I don't remember getting this with my 1st. It's as if a rod is attached to the back of my nipple and the pains rip through it! Must be normal! Along with all the other peculiar things!! Wink xx

If your breast is hard and red and hot and you feel unwell or feverish, it could be mastitis-- you can get this during pregnancy too. You'd need antibiotics for that.

Breast pain/tenderness in and of itself is not normally a concern (not pleasant though!)
