I called to make an appointment with my gp yesterday after finding out on Thursday I was pregnant and was told I didn't need to see a doctor just a midwife but wasn't allowed to see a midwife til I was 9 weeks? Is that right?

I first saw a midwife at 8 weeks so 9 sounds normal.

I was given an intial appointment at 6 weeks but the guidelines say you should be seen before 10 weeks.

I believe I was 9 or 10.

I was also given an appointment at 6 but in our area officially its 8/10 weeks.

It varies by area. Some wont see you until 10/11 others see you as early as 6weeks.

It does feel like a long time waiting for your first appointment and then between appointments when your pregnant.

I didn't see my m/w for booking in until I was 15 weeks, but thats because she was busy, its meant to be 8/10 weeks here.
