I believe they fade after 5 years?

Was thinking of scanning/photographing and printing my 12 & 20 week pics and framing them or putting them on a canvas or something.

has anyone done anything nice and creative to preserve/display theirs??

I got a framed picture/verse about how precious he is and how much I cherished carrying him and it has spaces for both scan pictures. Can't remember the exact verse but it's a Winnie-the-Pooh type thing and a really nice memento. Didn't cost much off ebay if I recall.

Which reminds me I should probably start looking for another one once I've had my scan this time round... Grin

Photograph the scan photograph with a digital camera and then you'll have it forever.

I bought an album and put all mine in. We did take pictures of them on our phones at the time but will make sure we have copies now I didn't realise!

I don't think they fade my scan pics from DC1 are sti perfect and they are 16 years old now

KatoPotato · 15/08/2014 16:14

We scanned them into the PC, you could also just photograph them. I know they say you shouldnt laminate them?

beccajoh · 15/08/2014 16:16

Don't, whatever you do, laminate them. The pics are heat sensitive and lamination will destroy them.

DinoSnores · 15/08/2014 18:07

We took digital photos of them then put those photos into a photo book.

Dandybella · 15/08/2014 20:40

I laminated mine. Don't do that. I cried for ages afterwards!

mummy1973 · 15/08/2014 20:41

Mine are 10 plus years and no fade. They are just in an old fashioned album!

ColdTeaAgain · 15/08/2014 20:49

Oh no Dandy Sad

I do try and remind my patients not to do that but I must admit I forget to mention it when we are really busy.

They shouldn't fade if kept in a book or photo album. They are on thermal paper, so the main enemies are strong sunlight, radiators and....laminators!

I'm trying to find a frame with apertures for five photos... blastocyst, 7 weeks, 12 weeks, 20 weeks and just born... no luck yet, think I'll get one made. (Or forget about it in whirlwind of newborn baby stuff!)

Ellie2elysia · 15/08/2014 22:10

I found my mums scan picture of me which is over 20 years old and I can assure you it's still in tact :)!
