Caffeine free tea or a good alternative?

I love tea. Could happily get through 5+ cups a day, not every day but some days. The caff free tea I've tried thus far isn't very nice, can anyone recommend a good brand? Alternatively I'll get some more rooibus, seem to remember that going down reasonably well when preg with DD. Thanks.

I'm still drinking two cups of proper tea a day. It'll be a cold day in hell before I give it up.

Ha! I need the tea to keep me awake in the morning! And the afternoon...and all day....

ha- yeah, actually, im not on the decaf for pregnancy-related reasons, in fact, im enjoying a 'proper' cuppa now, but i've always had decaf in for pre-bed tea drinking- I'll swear blind that the caf stuff makes me wee more!

What'wrong with tea when ur pregnant? Blush

squizita · 14/08/2014 13:35

Nothing. The nhs recommend 200mg caffeine per day (2-3 teas) when pregnant.
Some tea companies are now selling their decaff tea mainly to pregnant women as if you can't have any!

Most decaf teas have been made decaf by using chemicals. When I read this I wasn't sure if it was any better swapping normal for decaf! But I found that clipper decaf tea uses no chemicals at all for their tea. It also tastes a lot better than other decafs.

I like redbush tea - at least, the proper South African rooibos. Smile

Thanks ladies. I completely agree that some caffeine is fine but I am very newly preg and have started craving cups once an hour. I will def be having a couple of normals each day but need something to bump me through the rest of the day. And I'm rather partial to chocolate and the odd diet coke which both contain some too. Totally agree that all the horrifying marketing stuff to preg women is generally to be ignored.
