Hello all :)

Since Wednesday last week, I have been suffering from severe back pain, it is agony to sit or lie down and walk. Last night I slept better finally go comfortable but when I woke up I was in agony, and I am still suffering now. Paracetamol isn't touching it. I have two bump supports one is just a stretcy piece of material which initially helped buy now I am wearing a velcro strapped one which kind of helps.

I am gonna book an emergency appointment for tomorrow, but does anyone have any ideas how I can make myself comfortable?

Hi, I've suffered with it most way through my pregnancy.
Keep your legs closed as much as you can. Sleep with a pillow between your knees at night, I find it so much comfier. My physio recommended an aqua yoga class which I love doing. The velcro support is great for when your up and walking about. x

The velcro support is ok when I am up, but is really hurting the front of my bump!

This is my 3rd pregnancy & I have suffered through every one. Started at 13 weeks first time around, 8 weeks second time & 5 weeks this time.
For me what worked best was regular appointments for gentle manipulation at the chiropractors, that kept me walking in my second pregnancy because in my first one I stopped work at 20 weeks, couldn't walk & ended up a real wreck. I also suggest that you take regular paracetemol, ie 1000mgs every 4 hours, 6 times a day. It takes a couple of days to build up in your system but it really does help to keep the edge off the pain. I also took and am taking this time, regular prescribed codeine, some prefer to avoid stronger pain relief but each to their own.
Get a referral to a women's health physio or see a chiropractor privately though, the support belt can make things worse, for instance in my situation I can't use it as my pelvis is naturally misaligned anyway so a belt that tightens joints that are already misaligned just makes the pain worse - they didn't believe me in my first pregnancy when I told them that the belt hurt!!
There are loads of hints and tips to make the pain easier, the best one I can give you is take it easy & do not try & push through the pain, it will not help! Check out the pelvic partnership website, it has been a great help to me! Good luck x
