Changing midwife and Dr to ones nearer to home?

Hi ladies. I'm currently 7 weeks pg with my first baby. I live in Germany and have a gynae who I've been seeing for years who is based near to my office. During pregnancy she offers shared care with a midwife in the same clinic.

The issue is that the clinic is 75km from where I live, although only half an hour on the train. It's much more practical for me at the moment to have my appts near to the office. But I've started to wonder if this will be totally impractical later on in the pregnancy and after the birth, when I'm not working.

Any thoughts or advice? I would prefer to stay with my current doctor but it seems that it's just not really practical.

I would talk to her about your concerns, she may have a recommendation for someone closer to home. On the one hand, it's nice to be close by, but on the other hand you can't beat a comfortable, familiar relationship with a professional you trust.

Fwiw, my midwife was 3 hours away from me! But I didn't have many other options.
