Hi.

I am 38 weeks on monday and have yet to get my arse in gear to get stuff packed. I have a rough idea of what I am taking in with me. I am just undecided on weather to take one big bag with everything in it or two smaller bags, one for me and one for bubs.

What did you do as where I am going, the labour suites are on a different level to where you go after you have had the baby so need I need to bear in mind moving stuff from floor to floor and how much space there is on the ward

OneLittle in my local hospital they have signs up saying they do not provide formula, and a list of local stores including 24 hour ones where you can buy it. I guess in an emergency they might well give you some, but the signs do imply that if you need it, but don't have it, 9 times out of 10 they will insist you buy some.

So, my advice is take some just in case. Beats sending DP on an emergency dash to the local 24 hour Tesco.

This is new though. When I had dd in 2013 they didn't have the signs up. I noticed them when I went for my booking in appointment a couple of weeks ago.

Dolica - they have to provide it if you need it. Although hospitals do have problems with people who are having some trouble and think they need it, when medically they dont or change their mind about bf - hospitals dont provide it in these circumstances but people often think they should. I would imagine thats why your hospital has signs up - to stop those people demanding it. Ultimately if they didnt provide it when medically necessary babies would die and they would be in serious trouble.
