Lovely things that partners do

Yesterday my partner and I had a fall out (I am off sick post eye surgery, have psd and bad acid reflux plus the heat, all stopping me sleeping or functioning properly - as a result he feels taken for granted etc etc and I need to get off my bum and help him)

I cried a lot, he cried (never happens!) and so I did my best to be better in the evening. Last night I barely slept again.

He left me to sleep (he works at home) and disappeared out to the shops and returned with a fan. Oh my god it is amazing.

I feel so lucky to have someone who is so strung out and fed up and yet STILL thinks of me. I literally don't know how to thank him.

Thought I'd share something nice! What sweet things have your OHs done?

Awh there are so many lovely men out there and we are lucky ladies by the sounds of things!

I wrote him a little letter telling him how much I love an appreciate him, let him have several extra pints at the pub this evening when I'd normally whine and want to go home, and am now humouring his need for loud Bob Marley music.
I think it is working :)

The more I read this thread the more brilliant things I realise he does and how much more I need to tell him / give him a break. I guess it's easy to put yourself first when you're carrying a new life! Xxx

Mine is fab too! He's been giving me back massages since my back started hurting at 20 weeks (currently 38 weeks) and has been massaging my legs and cankles in this hot weather with cooling leg and foot gel.

He always tells me to rest and put my feet up and will happily potter around the house doing jobs while I lie down.

He's the best GrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

Today my DH is working his 6th day in a row having been rota'd in for last week and this weekend. He is also rota'd for next week and next weekend... 14 days in a row. Now I know he will deny it but it's because he will lose salary whilst on paternity leave. Baby is due 10 August (2 weeks tomorrow) And yet he still cooks tea every night as I work later than him and cleans the house too. I feel so useless as I cant do much around the house...

Mine file my toenails and removed old polish to me lst night :)

All cooking, most of the cleaning, all of the lifting and carrying... I've sort of forgotten who I used to be I think (in terms of being bodily able to do stuff). He tells me I'm beautiful all the time, particularly when I'm having an 'urgh shit body moment'. Most of all he walks slowly so I can keep up and don't feel rushed. This feels massively important!

To be fair, mine has me spoilt even when I'm not pregnant

Yes, that too. He can be a snarky git, and he's never been shy about saying things as they are, even if sometimes it's a bit close to the bone, but in general he could never tell me he loves me, and that would be fine - he just makes it bloody obvious that he does.

Mine surprised me with a cup of tea in bed this morning after letting me sleep as he knows I've been struggling in the heat.

He always tells me I look beautiful when I'm having a "beached whale" moment and is generally just amazing.

And yes, I do tell him so Grin
