thighs rubbing...

I'm 25 wks pg, fat, hot and have nothing to wear. The commute on the tube is killing me and none of my cool summer clothes fit me (of course, because I'm FAT AND PREGNANT!!!!)

I'm looking for something like this but for pregnancy, so I can wear a skirt without getting nappy rash on my hot fat sweaty thighs :(

Google Bodyglide. Better than thick knickers in this weather.

Maybe the spanx for pregnancy? But that could make you feel even hotter/sweatier...?

I have this problem too and yesterday i tried putting a bit of anti-perspirant deodorant on my inner thighs and it seemed to work, but I only went down to the local shop and back again.

I’ll be watching this thread to see what other people come up with!

These always come up on the sweaty thighs threads... Bandelettes but I've not tried them myself... Yet....

A pair of cropped maternity leggings would look ok under dresses.

Short cotton leggings are a popular choice.

is Bodyglide the stuff runners put on their nipples to stop them bleeding...?! Will give it a go.

I have some pregancy spanx which I bought for a wedding (and almost melted in) and I have some regular spanx that at 3am this morning I though I could chop the over-the-hips bit off and just keep the shorts bit....

Then I thought I could butcher a pair of tights...

But the idea of wearing any lycra in this weather makes me want to weep!!

Cotton leggings cut to a length that won't be seen under your skirt

I found maternity three quarter length leggings on ebay. Loads of colours and only 3.50 a pair. Been a life saver for me.

cutting off the lower legs of tights doesn’t work - I tried this and the bits of the legs that were left just rolled up and were uncomfortable.

I've seen culotte type petticoats on eBay that would prob do the job as they'd be looser than leggings/spanx but you'd have material between your legs

Search evans comfort shorts. They are thinner than leggins & come to just above the knee. No more sweaty thighs / crotch

I have a few pairs that I wear in summer but this summer I'm 34 weeks preg & can't be without them!

Also lanacane anti chaffing gel is good too!

I'm doing the cut off tights. I've found if you cut off just above the knee they don't roll up as much (although this could just be my thighs, as I did this with normal tights before I was pregnant). Is handy cause of the bump support as well.

Sloggi long legs are brilliant, but they only go up to a not terribly big 16, so they may not fit all the way through PG

Bodyglide is great, totally sorts out my chub rub.

I saw a fairly large woman yesterday in a lovely knee length summer dress that was riding up at the back, displaying her pretty unlovely white cycling short style undergarments. It didn't look great and two bitchy twenty somethings walking in front of me were killing themselves laughing at her. I wanted to share the magic of Bodyglide with her.

Primark leggings are £3, they're soft and they wash up really nicely!

I got 2 pairs of 3/4 length leggings from Next (I have massive thighs that have always met in the middle from aged 10) £8 a pair. They currently have them online. I am only 5'1 and they come to just over the knee/ top of calf.

i've 'borrowed' OH's underpants :-/ he doesn't know but they are the 'shorts' style and so go down enough to stop the rubbing but are not so heavy that they just make me hotter... the waist goes under the bump!

Pettipants! I couldn't wear dresses at all (pg or not, am size 16) in hot weather before I discovered them via a mn thread. I am now pg with dc2 and wear nothing else but dresses in this heat.

It is true you have to be sure your dress won't ride up and show them though (actually I don't care if people do snigger personally - better than melting! But many would feel sensitive so buy the shortest ones and on the knee or maxi dresses).

I was going to start this thread myself, so thank you! Size 12 with chunky chunky thighs and a skin tag/mole that rubs and gets really sore... Now pg and hating waistbands so shorts are out but can't walk anywhere in dresses.

Off to google some of the suggestions on this thread.

I buy my leggings in a bigger size so they pull right up. Feels fantastic because the waistband then sits high up over my waist and doesn't interfere with the line of any of my dresses.

Looks incredibly unattractive though! Before I put a dress on!

Antiperspirant on the part where your thighs rub works a treat. Spray is better as it is lighter and dries instantly - you don't have to sit or stand with you legs akimbo waiting for it to dry because if you don't let it dry it won't work. Cheaper and more comfortable than big pants or leggings.

Sudacrem works well to repair the damage if you forget the antiperspirant.

Lanucane does the job and prevents chafing!
