I had a normal day yesterday, a little more tired than usual but otherwise fine. Felt nauseous going to bed but I've had that quite often this pregnancy. But then I was sick 7 times in the night and just had diarrhoea. Can only assume I have a bug. I'm sure 15+5. Does anybody have any advise on if or when I should call doctor/ what I should try and drink? I'm sure it will be fine but worried about baby.

Oh no, I hope you feel better soon.

Sips of water, dioralyte or flat coke to start with, then work up from there. If your symptoms haven't improved in 48 hours or you are really struggling to keep fluids down then call your GP/MW for further advice.

I've had a couple of d and v bugs since falling pregnant (26w now) and this was what I was told by my GP. I also suffer from emetophobia so really struggle when I'm pukey.

Also found ice lollies were a godsend.

Oh and baby will be fine. They are well protected in there. Just stay hydrated and rest lots.

I had norovirus at 24 weeks. Called the dr when I couldn't keep fluids down and was asked to go to theatre entity unit for a check up. They kept me in with fluid IV for a few days. The midwife told me not to worry about the baby as would be protected and chances of her being effected by dehydration etc were very slim and they take what they need before you get any.

Hope you feel better soon.

Thank you for the responses. Touch wood, water seems to be staying down. Thanks for the reassurances about baby

I got food poisoning at a similar point.
I pretty much ate only bananas for three days, and as much water as I could manage. If it is a problem, lukewarm water (boiled with cold) with a spoonful of sugar is often helpful

I checked at the time too, it's basically impossible to overdose on bananas!

I hope you feel much better now. I'm 32 weeks and had something similar. Was on high alert but doctor put me at ease. It passed within 24 hours and I felt much, much better. All good now, this was around three weeks ago. Make sure your doctor is aware of any progress/regress and just look after yourself :-)

Managed to eat a banana and a cracker. On the up I think!
