So I have been having a bit of pinky/bloody discharge every now and then when I wipe for the last week. It has gradually turned into actual blood on the tissue. And then this evening, I coughed, and it felt like I peed a little bit, so I rushed to the toilet and I saw some drops of blood go into the toilet along with a couple of stingy clots (maybe 1-2 inches long), since then it has been like I am on my normal period all evening, with a couple of other bean sized clots. Very normal if I was on my period, but obviously a bit more concerning now. I have had no severe cramps or back pain so keeping my hopes up. But then again, I have never been one to suffer from period pains and cramps, just a very slight ache almost just a tightness in my lower abdomen which I am feeling now. I have have had twinges in my stomach all last week, but I just put that down to ligaments stretching. I know the first port of call would be the doctors, but I am on holidays and don't fancy the local docs.

so sorry to hear you are going through this! if I were you I would pop up to a&e or call docs, they will usually refer you to an early pregnancy unit who will give you a scan to check all is well xxThanks

Are you abroad or still Uk? If Uk maybe call a local Maternity Unit and they may be able to see you?

I'm in Italy at the moment, and will be for the next week :( I'm concerned about the language barrier if I go to a&e.

Unless the pain or bleeding becomes unbearable I think I would just wait it out. If you are miscarrying, there is nothing a dr could do, unfortunately. Can you stock up on painkillers and pads?

I mc'd in the uk and preferred to just hole up at home and log it with the GP afterwards rather than spend time in uncomfortable waiting rooms when I knew that there would be nothing they could do anyway.

I agree with eurochic, unless you're bleeding much more than your usual period I'd wait and stock up on Paracetamol and pads.
Really hope this turns out all ok for you.
Thanks

Thank you all so much for your advice! So update on today... bleeding stopped around midnight last, and today all I have had is some very slight pinky discharge when I wipe. Is this a good sign? Or am I just getting my hopes up falsely?

This is driving me insane, I just really want to know whether it's a yes or no. I'm seriously thinking whether to head up to A&E here in Italy, to see if I can get an u/s to put my mind at rest.

So I couldn't bare not knowing any longer and just went up to A&E... Everything is ok! I saw bean and heard the heartbeat, so pleased!

I got seen within 15 mins of being there and got an ultrasound (I would happily pay 25€ in England each time if I got seen that quick!), everything was so clean, and efficient, good work Italians!
