me23 - I don't know what study you are referring to, but regardless 1 glass a day is fairly heavy drinking. I think that there has only been one post referring to that. I think the rest of us are agreeing with you on one glass once in a while, or at most 1-2 units a week. Smile

I wouldn't drink every day/night pregnant or not. I just needed a glass of wine after a very very stressful time.

I thank pregnancy for showing me I didn't need to open a bottle of wine as soon as I got home from work. Every day seems silly now but beforehand I'd be laughing at you saying 1-2 units every day is heavy.

Natasha was that in the UK? Not read any respected stuff from the UK about that - although in the USA there is a trend to avoid aspartame and caffeine to a level far exceeding proven danger levels? Neither is vastly healthy but small amounts are not a proven risk.

Internationally, diet coke is seen (through proper studies) to be safer than alcohol.

Its our first wedding anniversary and I'm going to have a glass of champagne on Saturday to celebrate, my first glass of wine in 22 weeks, I'm really looking forward to it!

I don't think it's dangerous, but there are some studies which suggest that artificial sweetners are quite good at sending your appetite off-kilter, which whilst certainly not 'avoid at all costs', is something to consider in pregnancy.
