I know it's safe to fly, but how am I going to deal with the nausea on a 4 hour flight? Help! I think I'm going to need to stock up on salt and vinegar crisps and water!!

I did a one hour flight and it was horrid towards the end. Lots of water and a packet of crackers or something that you can just nibble on? Or don't sleep the night before so you nap the whole way through?!

Try the travel sickness wrist bands too, I found they helped take the edge off it.

I did two 12 hour flights at 8 and 9.5 weeks. Managed to not be sick on the flight but was when we landed. Water, travel sickness bands, sleeping was my strategy. Good luck!

Oh and actually the little paper sick bags are quite good. I still have one in my handbag!

Could you ask your GP about safe travel medicines?

SeaSaltMill · 07/07/2014 09:12

It's too late to ask the doctor we are going to the airport today! It's an early morning flight so hopefully I will nap, I'll take some snacks and hope for the best.

Yep, definitely take snacks!

Mmolly2013 · 07/07/2014 21:21

it was more smells made me sick. id be worried about someone getting something too eat and the smell making me sick. I couldnt stand the smell of eggs in the early days so if someone was to eat and egg mayo sandwich id throw up on the spot

GingerScouse · 08/07/2014 08:01

I second plenty of snacks. I flew back from Vietnam (12 hour flight) at 8 weeks when my ms had kicked in.

Throwing up in an aeroplane loo isn't that bad really.

I flew to New York at 8 weeks, was really poorly, I'd say get an aisle seat so you can get up and down when needed, ask for a seat not too far from the toilets!
It was the constant circling that we had to do for half an hour before we could touch down that got me! As soon as the seat belt sign was off I had to run to the loo!
