21+1 wks and still not felt my little one move 😞

I've had scans at 4, 6, 13 and 20 weeks (last one just one week ago) and all is well but can't help but worry as I still haven't felt anything ð??ª I thought I felt movement just 3days ago but nothing at all since so I assume it was just wind. I know I probably sound ridiculous and paranoid but being a hairdresser I come into contact with many many women everyday, and it's becoming upsetting when so many people on a daily basis say "oooh you should be feeling lots of movement now!!!". Do I need to go back to hospital or just wait it out a bit longer? Not sure if it makes a difference but this is my first xx

On your 20 week scan where does it say your placenta is? if it's anterior (front) it'll muffle the movement. Even if it's not anterior it's still not in worrying territory. I only started feeling stuff properly this week and I'm 22 weeks tomorrow.

I agree with op. I was worried as felt nothing until gone 22 weeks - I also have an anterior placenta.

I didn't feel anything until 23 weeks, and a friend of mine didn't feel anything until 27. There's nothing to worry about. The worry is that once you definitely start feeling things, if it then stops, it could be an indication that your baby is in distress.

Sammijay84 · 06/07/2014 22:17

On my scan it says the placenta is posterior. You wouldn't believe how harsh some clients can be, constantly telling me I should have been feeling movements for a while now! Do they not realise how hormonal I am?! Shock Xx

I posted the exact same this morning:) I'm 19+2
Where on my notes would it say about the placenta ?

Sammijay84 · 06/07/2014 22:23

On your detailed scan paper it will have your details then down left hand side it has fetal heartbeat, ventricles, face etc..... then it will say placenta (I assume all hospital print outs will be same) xx

I thought it was more like 22-23 weeks (disclaimer: it's been a long time since I was pregnant!).

Sammijay84 · 06/07/2014 22:43

Everyone appears to have different experiences..... I just find that my mum/sister/closest friends constantly tell me there's "nothing to worry about" which is lovely and supportive, but because I expect them to say these things it's not helping to ease my mindConfused xx

I didn't feel anything till 22 weeks xx

Sammijay84 · 06/07/2014 23:08

Was it definite kicks at 22wks? I mean was it unmistakeable or was it these "fluttery feelings" I hear people talking about? xx

Mines definite kicks now can feel it on the outside to, I'm 24 weeks now and he feel him everyday but not loads x

squizita · 07/07/2014 09:46

Even with a normally positioned placenta some women don't feel much until week 24, so do not worry.
Read the NHS and mumsnet advice or a respected book: they all pretty much say this.
Avoid babycentre forums where everyone felt their baby 10 minutes after conception like the plague! Grin

squizita · 07/07/2014 09:49

Here you go, these are respected sites and as you can see you're within the normal range:
www.nct.org.uk/pregnancy/your-babys-movements-womb
This one is cautious (from a stillbirth charity) but says there is no cause for concern till week 24, and then you just need to call your midwife for a check-up not rush to hospital!

That is good to hear.. Don't the kicks feel amazing?? I love it when my little one in there kicks and sticks out her body parts (can't really tell what is whichGrin) as I had anterior placenta with my first I didn't feel him a lot and when I did they weren't hard and painful. With this one I have posterior placenta and I'm 25 weeks now and OMG they are can be very painful sometimes..

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy
