So I'm 10+3 and an emotional wreck! My poor husband! It's over such silly things as well, for example I was washing the pots earlier on and broke a glass...cue the sobbing! And I mean sobbing!

Anyone else like this or been the same and when does it tail off?! Thanks in advance x

I get like this with PMT and pregnancy. It didn't get better, if anything worse. Sorry!

mssleepyhead · 06/07/2014 13:43

Worst thing I sobbed at was the chip shop being closed when all I wanted was chips. That was the first trimester : ) Now 33 weeks and today I got emotional ironing baby gros. I think there was a calmer period in between, but it doesn't last long!

WaffleWiffle · 06/07/2014 13:46

An episode of Escape to the County made me cry during my first trimester.

I'm not so emotional now I'm approaching third trimester.

Enaj30 · 06/07/2014 13:47

Lol thanks for the replies, it's just nice to know that it's normal and I'm not on my own!

I was like this in first trimester...I burst into tears because he cat stepped on my foot too hard... Because I washed DP's jumper and ruined it by accident... Because I was laughing too hard at something (turned into sobbing) .... Because my DP didn't seem to care when I told him a pregnancy fact ie. "my uterus has doubled in size since last week!!" ... And many many other reasons that seem very silly now ! Totally normal. When I got a little way into 2nd trimester I went back to 'normal' -- or even in a better mood than normal most of the time ! Then 3rd trimester the random sobbing comes back again ! It seems bad at the time but actually there was a really funny thread on here a few months ago with things that mumsnetters had cried at whilst pregnant - hilarious ! Don't worry just let yourself sob it's normal !

IUsedToUseMyHands · 06/07/2014 13:49

It's unsettling isn't it! I remember walking to the station and there was a tiny bit of frost on the ground and I sobbed all the way thinking about the fact that I might possibly slip over!

Enaj30 · 06/07/2014 13:57

It really is! I do suffer from depression sometimes and I am in a really good place at the moment, but when this happens I worry. I have to do a reality check and say to myself 'your fine it's just the hormones!'. Like I say I feel really sorry for my husband as one minute I'm great the next a sobbing mess lol!!

SNAP! I had a complete breakdown on a night out on Friday and headed home in tears after a mild irritation. As only one person there knows I'm pregnant I couldn't explain why I was so upset. They were all concerned too as it was the sort of thing that would have only mildly annoyed me before. Have received apologies from people who are worried they really upset me.

Since then I've been snapping at DH for all sorts of little things -especially when he makes silly noises or doesn't bring me my mint tea quick enough!

squizita · 06/07/2014 16:51

I just cried reading "Birth Skills" not even the bits where they talk about pain and exhaustion LOL - it was some of the bland case studies e.g. "I found pacing round the room during early labour very helpful in pain management" ... and I don't know why it made me blub.

BeginnerSAHM · 06/07/2014 17:05

Don't iron babygros...Wink That way madness lies.

Enaj30 · 06/07/2014 17:26

I think I'm gonna get my mum to do any baby clothes ironing when needed as it might be safer ;-)

I go from crying uncontrollably, to getting angry at everything, to laughing hysterically all in the space of an hour.

Pregnancy hormones, gotta love em!

Enaj30 · 06/07/2014 19:49

I just keep thinking 'it'll be worth it' that's keeping me going through the tears lol. Cried 3 times today, Jesus!!!!!

beginnerSAHM - we had a conversation about this and decided that the very first time we washed them we would iron them but never again ; )

BeginnerSAHM · 06/07/2014 21:57

Guess that's just about ok then mssleepyhead...Wink. Just remember have a meltdown about what a 'tip' the house was when baby number 1 was 4 days old (and cleaning under the microwave at 3 am because he'd need feeding again in 45 mins). Kind of delayed nesting instinct maybe. (He was early and I wasn't expecting a first baby to come early.) Anyway, if I had got used to ironing baby clothes before he was born, I'd have had another meltdown about how quickly my standards had slipped. Sure your behaviour will be more rational though!

porcito · 06/07/2014 22:32

This thread made me feel sane when I was crying at things like dead insects in the house leaving their families behind, burnt toast, etc.

www.closeronline.co.uk/2014/06/watch-adorable-video-of-a-teddy-waiting-for-baby-s-arrival#.U7pfdrH5MpQ

A video two new parents made of a teddy bear waiting for it's new owner....and I'm not soppy at all normally!

(go on, watch the video, its so cute!)

Enaj30 · 07/07/2014 11:01

Ha ha I will do GailLondon but I'm at work at the moment, so think I might save it for when I am home just in case the tears start again! Been good today so far lol

Me too, cried hysterically because my husband offered to play backgammon with me (I normally win) and said I'll keep letting you win since you're pregnant and I was sobbing thinking that he'd been letting me win all this time. He hadn't.
Also cried hysterically when we were talking about going on holiday and I said 'I'm not sure you'll want to go away with a big fat pregnant woman' and he said 'Oh I'll leave her behind then.' My life was over for about 3 minutes. Also every evening I hadn't cooked something I thought I was the worst wife in the world.
Man deserves a medal. :)

Cried when DH didn't peel the orange quick enough. (Now if I give him an orange to peel or something else he does it right away as he doesn't want me to cry again) bless him

Driving in heavy rain- drove home from a nice lovely birthday dinner and it was raining so hard I could barely see the road or lines, once out of the rain I just pulled over and cried really hard.. Husband took over the wheel.

Vehicle making horrible alarm sound while driving as it wanted to remind me to service the car..
