If you mean sleeping bag, look at the merino baby sleeping bag. They come in x2 sizes only 0-2 years, and 2-4 years if wanted. And only one tog as the merino keeps them cool in summer and warm in winter like sheepskin does. About £50 but the only one you need to by size and tog wise until 2 years when they can use duvet anyway

My dd is currently in a 1 tog but will move to a 2.5tog when it's colder. It depends on your room temperature tbh.

For newborn babies, cellular blankets are better initially. Lots of websites give advice on how baby layers to use depending on the temperature of the room and what tog to use to.

At this time of year I have always used a 1 tog. When I bought the growbag brand they came with a room thermometer that told you which tog to use which I found useful as we were completely clueless when DC1 arrived.

If it's really hot I would just have them in an all in one vest and a cotton cellular.

I'm 34 wks so been buying lots of baby stuff recently, including these! The Gro-Bag website has guidelines on what size tog to get but generally 2.5 tog should do for most of the year (layering appropriately underneath) although in warm summer months a 1 tog would be better. My baby is due mid August and I'm just going to use swaddle wraps initially until he's the right size for gro-bags. I imagine by the time September comes around he'll be in 2.5 tog. I'm in Scotland where it's not usually hot but you never know, September might be a scorcher!

bear in mind that baby may be too small for a sleeping bag to start with.

I have the mothercare sleeping bags and they have a minimum weight of 7lb.

my newborn is 4 weeks and weighs more than this but he is little and is still too small for them because his head can slip down through the head hole.

I would start with blankets until you are sure baby fits properly.

Both my toddler and baby DS are currently in 1.0 tog grobags. Their rooms are around 24-25c at night. DS has a long sleeve vest (as he tends to be a slightly colder baby) and DD has a short sleeve vest underneath.

Will be in 2.5tog when it gets colder. Until just last week DS was in his Moses basket in our room with cellular blankets.

If you want to buy grobags, I've found tesco and amazon to be reasonable. And you can buy multipacks of 1+2.5 togs which work out cheaper.
