Breech at 36 weeks? Chances of baby moving?

As title, my daughter is breech, they will scan her at 38 weeks and then discuss the options, we have had a look on line and it doesn't look hopeful that the baby will move. She is prepared for a C Section, but I have heard so many "my baby moved at the last week" stories that I don't know if it is usual or not? Apologies if this has been covered, I checked through the first couple of pages and didn't see anything.

When did you have your last scan? I was carrying breach this pregnancy and at 36 weeks we thought that was still the case. By 38 weeks the scan showed that baby had moved head down.

I would say relax and hang in there as you just never know. This is the second time I've had a late scan because the baby was breach at 20 weeks and then they have turned.

"If you are 36-40 weeks along, your baby is among the 3% of babies breech at term. The likelihood of baby turning on its own at 37 weeks is about 12%"

From a breech baby website.

She hasn't had a scan since 20 weeks, the midwives have written on her notes and said to her that the baby is breech, her next scan is 38 weeks, we are a bit worried as I went 4 weeks early with her, but it's good to know that there is still a chance he could move, thanks.

My ds went breech at 38 weeks. He was still very active and turned himself before 40 weeks. He then arrived at 42 weeks.

My dd was also breech at 37 weeks. She was not so active and was showing no sign of turning. I had her turned at the hospital by two consultants. It was a bit scary (the have to have an operating theatre on standby in case an emergency c section is required). It was also briefly quite painful. But it was worth it. Dd came arrived at 41 weeks in a planned home birth.

Wait until the scan. Then think talk through your options. I take it that you are grandma?

Yes, I'm the granny, I was really wanting to hear that he could still turn, a c section would be quite a hard recovery for her, (lives in an upper flat with no lift, not being able to drive for a month) but at this point she's just desperate to have him !!

He could still turn either by himself or by having him turned.

It's still possible but she will know more after the scan and a chat with a consultant.

There's a website called spinning babies that she may find useful. Doctors can also try to manually manipulate the baby into the right position.

My dd was breech from 26 weeks they kept saying she would turn but she didnt and i had an emergency section after going in to labour at 37+5 I knew she wasnt going to turn she was just too comfy, most babies will turn at the last minute though my consultant said only 3% of babies are still breech by 37 weeks.
