Baby was moving loads and sonographer thought bub may have a club foot so I'm seeing the consultant next week to look again.
Please can anyone reassure me about this? Everything else was good but I'm not sure really what to expect altho it seems treatment is much better than when I was young. Thanks

I've no experience, but I believe treatments after birth can be effective. Hope it straightens out in the womb though!

Congratulations on your baby, please do feel free to message me. My DS now almost 7 was treated with the Ppnseti method for clubfeet and you'd never know now. In fact he has his sports day tomorrow and expects to do quite well in the egg and spoon!

I've lots of info (as has the charity Steps) too much for here but I can email you.

My DN has club foot. There are varying degrees of severity and treatment will start from when the baby's born and can be properly assessed. DN has a very severe form but he walks, runs, jumps around like any other little boy.

Treatment-wise, if baby does turn out to have club foot then you'll be given information about the various options, which range from massage, physiotherapy, casts, special boots up to corrective surgery.

My exdh had a club foot when he was born....no issues at all beyond infancy x

My DS was born with talipes (not picked up on scan previously, despite many scans because he is a twin).

In DSs case, it was positional talipes, where his position in the womb had bent his foot. He was able to straighten it himself if you tickled his feet, and it gradually straightened out over about 6 weeks. You wouldn't know there was any problem now (he's 3yo now).

If the talipes is more serious than positional talipes, or it doesn't correct itself, I am told treatment is very effective now. I understand that this will be really worrying for you, but it really isn't the end of the world.
