How quickly can a baby engage?

At my 31 week appt baby was head down and brim. At a hospital check over the weekend (at 33+5) baby was still head down and free. Just wondered how fast a baby's head can engage? I've developed a very heavy feeling down below and the urge to pee is almost constant with often nothing more than a dribble!

sometimes the baby will not engage until your in labour. Because baby is quite low he/she will be putting pressure on your bladder which will give you the urge to pee constantly but not necessarily doing so. My baby was head down from my 20 week scan and that way through all my check ups yet i was 8 days over before i finally gave birth.
I wouldnt go by where the babies head is as they an continue to move right up till birth nad even if the head does become engaged it doesnt mean it will stay there. Again with the heaviness you will feel this generally because of the baby being low down but can be like this for weeks before labour. you will have a show about 24 hours - 1 weeks before labour and you will get contractions these will feel slightly difference to your braxton hicks to begin with but then get much stronger.

I had heavy pulling pains in mine evrytime u stood up, and sharps pains there which stopped me in my tracks sometimes but again you can have this for weeks im afraid, it should be on and off rather then constant. It is all signs that baby/body is getting ready. Again because you can have verious signs like these for weeks before labour just keep track of your braxton hicks which will become more regular and then turn into contractions

Another one here whose baby didn't engage properly until labour.

I felt a big thud on my cervix, waters went and I was immediately in full blown labour. Good thing I was in hospital being induced at the time!
