What do baby hiccups feel like?

I'm 31 weeks, and for the past 2-3 weeks I have occasionally felt a rhythmic pulsing which I figured could be the baby hiccuping. It lasts a few minutes each time, and feels like a pulse or heartbeat.

The only thing is, the pulsing is only about 2 seconds apart, which feels quite quick for hiccups. Anything to worry about?

I could see my bump jumping when my baby had hiccups at this stage. Baby got hiccups a lot, don't know how far apart the jumps were thou.
Weird fact for you, I get the hiccups everyday, but when I was pregnant I never got hiccups! Shock
After baby was born hiccups everyday.

Hmm, not sure I've seen my bump move much when this happens, unlike when the baby moves or kicks and then it definitely moves quite a bit.

I get this too & assume it's hiccups. DH says it's too fast for them but it must be. Baby is really small I assume they breath very fast too so would think their hiccups would be quicker than ours.

Our lil mam gets them whenever i drink icy water. Its bloody annoyin -.n he went on for nearly an hour the other day, this constant jerking movement and i could hear him on the monitor, even the midwife said oh wow he still has hiccups lol just undet two weeks to go and we cant wait! x

I have had this regularly over the last few weeks - often a few times per day. Feels exactly as you describe, more like a 'pulse' than the kind of hiccups you or I would get. I can often see my bump 'twitch' when I have them.

When I was PG with my son he got hiccups (exactly as you describe) they used to keep me awake at night - funnily enough I can't ever think of him having hiccups after he was born (he's 13 now!) my daughter never had hiccups when I was PG though.

Both mine had them pretty much daily in those last few weeks. And, yes, it's like a quick pulsing.

I even felt phantom baby hiccups for a couple of weeks after they were born. It was most odd Confused.

Ok good, thanks for the reassurance!

Feels exactly as you describe and my MW said it's good as 1. means baby's kidneys are working and 2. that their brain development is good as the brain is telling the body to create a reflex. I was on a monitor thing at the local hospital the other day (the one that goes on your tummy) and the midwife chuckled as the hiccups showed up on the graph and you could also quite clearly see my tummy jumping with the hiccups. I get it daily and I'm currently 34+1 Smile

Meglet has just reminded me, I also had phantom hiccups for a few weeks after my DS was born was a really strange sensation!
