My last period was 13/05/14 and did a pregnancy test 3 days after my expected period (my cycle is 29 days) clear blue said i was 2-3 weeks
i did 7 pregnancy tests over about a week all were positive.

yest i went for an early scan we could see sac and yolk sak no heart beat she said i was showing as about 5 weeks.. i should be 6 weeks and 1 day

does this mean i have has a missed misscariage? xx

No, it would suggest that you ovulated later than you thought. Don't panic, the person scanning you would have said if there was a problem. X

bellaboo88 · 29/06/2014 13:42

I'm in a similar boat dani, my LMP was 5/5 which puts me at 8weeks but scan to rule out eptopic said 4-5, now works out at 6w4. I ovulated really late, dp's smug his super spunks lasted so long....could always be put forwards at scan tho (praying I am!) X

JellyBeansHaveNoAgeLimit · 29/06/2014 13:43

You won't see heartbeat until 7 weeks at the earliest so i really wouldn't worry at all. Congratulations Thanks

danixx · 29/06/2014 14:57

Thank you do much ladies for your replies.. What's making me worry is that the clear blue said 2-3 surely if I ovulated therefore implanted later it should have only said 1-2. I'm just very panicked and can't believe I have to wait another 9 days until the next scan!! :( xxx

But you could have been in week 2 with a high wee concentration which would put you at 4 weeks pregnant - those indicators are just a guide and aren't accurate. Try to relax.

danixx · 29/06/2014 15:18

Oh ok, all very confusing to me..
My first pregnancy so on edge about it all, didn't go to the scan expecting to measure small it was to rule out ectopic..
Thank you for your reply means a lot
All I can do is wait! Next 9 days are going to be long xx

Ha ha I know how you feel, my first pregnancy I was a bag of nerves too and every little twinge or unknown was an omg moment and waiting is definitely awful. Once bubs starts moving it 's great as you have constant reassurance via kicking ;). X

danixx · 03/07/2014 16:45

5 days to go and still just at panicky!

any other mums experianced this?

Hi, I just want you to know I have been in a very similar situation to you.
I went the the doctors as my periods were all over the place only to find out there and then I was pregnant (dr did pregnancy test). Went to EPU next morning on her referral to find out I was 5 weeks, how they could tell Ill never know, looked like a dot on the screen. Was assured that they wouldn't expect to see anything at all that early.
Had a nervous wait all over Xmas to go back 2 weeks later. Wow what a difference those 2 weeks made. Beautiful heartbeat fluttering away on the screen!

34 weeks this weekend.
I really hope for the same outcome for you.
I know how I felt for those 2 weeks and had pretty much written the whole thing off.
I'm not sure how accurate the clear blue tests are as my dates changed at the 12 week scan, I guess they are just a rough guess based on average hormone levels of women? (But I know nothing about this).
Please report back after your scan, sending positive thoughts your way xxx

lilyblue5 · 03/07/2014 19:41

Btw, went to EPU because I was bleeding, this continued right up until 12 weeks. No one seemed bothered about it (wasn't much but really worried me!)

danixx · 04/07/2014 11:29

Thanks for your mesage lilyblue5 its nice to know people have been in the same situation with positive outcomes..

im now slightly worried this morning i have had some brown discharge? im so worried, xx

lilyblue5 · 04/07/2014 13:28

Can you call EPU/midwife (if you have one yet) for some advise? Even an emergency drs appt? You don't want to be worrying about it until next week :(

Sending positive thoughts your way, sorry I cannot be more helpful.. Xx

danixx · 04/07/2014 18:04

i don have a midwife yet as we were waitng to seee what the outcome is at my second scan on tuesday
i havent had anymore brown discharge since that lot, just clear

any ladies have any thoughts on this? xxxx

It's just a wait and see I'm afraid. I had a scan at 5+5 and they only saw a yolk sac and fetal pole after some brown discharge. The discharge went and she is now 2.5 years old. I've also had things go the other way. Hang in there and try and think positive.

ScouseBird8364 · 05/07/2014 21:43

Jellybeans, that is actually incorrect, I've had to have early scans with three of my pregnancies, and heartbeat seen and heard each time - these were at 5+4, 5+6 & 5+1

squizita · 05/07/2014 22:11

Scouse however there is no cause to worry about not seeing a HB at any point before 6/7 weeks. Most healthy pregnancies would not show a HB till about 6 weeks, some not till 7.

ScouseBird8364 · 06/07/2014 11:10

squiz oh so mine's obvs not healthy? oh great, a 3rd miscarriage for me to look forward to, as if I wasn't worrying enough Sad

danixx · 06/07/2014 12:02

Scousebird8364 i dont think thats what squizita was saying atal..
its not abnormal not to see a heart beat at 5 weeks but definitly also not abnormal to see one that early either x

OP posts:
squizita · 06/07/2014 16:24

Yes Dani that's exactly it - TBH not sure how I could have phrased that differently? I was trying to prevent others worrying by clairfying because Scouse had seen a HB early and said it was "incorrect" to not be worried if you saw one later.
It goes without saying if a HB is seen earlier it's OK ... but it's not always bad news if not.

lilyblue5 · 06/07/2014 19:00

Hi All, I had no heartbeat visible at 5 weeks, it was only there at 7. Maybe the equipment in some places is a little dated (couldn't hear it, they said there was no facility for this). Currently getting a good kicking so as others have said it's not always bad news. I also had brown discharge/red discharge so that's not always bad news either. Good luck for you scan next week xx

JellyBeansHaveNoAgeLimit · 06/07/2014 19:45

Wow Scouse i didn't realise you could get a heartbeat that early, i only said 7 weeks as this is what i was told by a doctor.

OP, i had brown discharge early on with both my pregnancies, midwife said this can often happen when you would normally be due a period & is totally normal. I am 26 weeks now & still getting increased discharge (clear not bloody) around the time of my period.

danixx · 08/07/2014 11:01

My scan is this afternoon, will let you know how i get on, fingers and toes crossed! x
