Anyone have any solutions? Maybe my cramps are constipation? I know I haven't been eating as well since I got pregnant because I can't stomach a lot of food.

Thank you x

Prune juice?

pinkfizzsparkles · 25/06/2014 20:34

I started a thread about this a few days ago as I've been suffering and there's lots of good suggestions on there. Lactulose (from chemist), prune juice and more water were the most popular. I've drank prune juice the last 2 days and upped my water and we have movement!! Good luck!

squizita · 25/06/2014 20:35

Fybogel is good - it's powder fibre you make into a drink with water.

CheshireSplat · 25/06/2014 20:41

Drinking loads and lactulose are helping me. If you do a search there's loads of advice on Mumsnet about this.

Fresh orange juice works for me!
(22 weeks.)

second vote for fybogel. down a glass every morning and haven't had a problem since before i started taking it around 20 weeks.

Noappointmentnecessary · 25/06/2014 21:12

Where can I buy fybogel?

All above. Don't buy anything from the chemist, get a prescription from your GP so you can use your medical exemption.

WanttogotoDisney · 25/06/2014 21:40

How pregnant are you? I spent 3 days going backwards and forwards to my GP, taking laxitives and I eventually saw a gastroenterologist for my terrible constipation when I was 33 weeks. Turns out I was actually in labour and twin DDs arrived 2 days later. That solved the problem!

squizita · 25/06/2014 21:56

I get fybogel from the chemist aisle in Tesco.

Fresh strawberries

mssleepyhead · 25/06/2014 23:34

Fybogel is in most supermarkets I think. I stocked up on a special offer from ocado a few weeks ago and hoping its still on as I need some more!

EssexGirlLottie · 26/06/2014 10:55

Prune juice. I started with a small glass every day since a bad case of constipation early on in pg, and haven't had it since. I've even started to like the taste!

spence24 · 26/06/2014 11:13

Grapes have worked for me. Didn't even eat them as a way to help, but found they were stopping my queasy feelings, turns out it got me moving again too. I've been eating nearly a punnet a day for the last week!

rootypig · 26/06/2014 11:17

Stewed fruit - apples, plums, rhubarb, any combination.

Add cream! Smile

Misspilly88 · 26/06/2014 14:14

The miracle cure for me was that Dorset cereals fruity muesli. Am 38 weeks pg and only had one day where I've not been to the loo. It's expensive but yummy, and you could add more fruit- apricots, raisins, prunes on the top.

Noappointmentnecessary · 26/06/2014 20:55

I bought fybogel - it is vile. I don't know if I can stomach another. I think lactoluse tastes better so will get some of that. Thank you

Eating lots of fruit here and that does the trick most of the time. If not, I eat liquorice and that soon gets things moving if you eat enough!
