I think the chances are about 2%, but I do understand your worry. I also had two miscarriages before going on to have ds.

What does ds stand for? Ive already got a son who is 11 next month and my mmc was 5 yr ago and its took me this long to get pregnant again im just so scared

The chances are dependent on different factors, but if you're otherwise healthy and you are following any special advice from your midwife/GP (which they would have given if you needed it), the chances are pretty slim. Try to relax as much as you can - the vast majority of pregnancies end happily. You should have another scan at 12 weeks-ish so that's something to look forward too - take it one day at a time Smile. If you find the anxiety is getting the best of you, it might be worth seeing if there's a MW in your area who specialises in mental health support for expectant mothers.

'D' stands for dear or darling in MN shorthand. So 'DS' is 'dear/darling son', 'DD' is 'dear/darling daughter' etc.

Congratulations on your pregnancy.

From the miscarriage association: A heartbeat at 8 weeks increases the chance of a continuing pregnancy to 98% and at 10 weeks that goes up to 99.4%

Your chances are good. I hope the rest of your pregnancy is happy and healthy.

Yeah they say after 8 weeks it's 2-4% risk only so it is very reassuring to see that HB! :)

I think it's very rare to have a miscarriage after you've seen a heartbeat. I never understood this though as most miscarriages happen pre 12 weeks so seeing a heartbeat at 8 weeks is still a long time in the "danger zone."

Sadly, I was one of those who saw a heartbeat at 8 weeks and went back at 10 weeks for routine scan and there was no heartbeat :(

But the stats are with you.
