Bloody cramp in my calfs at night!

I have had a few times woken at night with awful cramp in my calf which results in not being able to walk the next morning!

But the last 3 nights I have woken up with it every night, it's bloody painful and not easy to hop around bedroom half asleep at 6 months pregnant!

Anyone else had this or got advice on how to stop it?

I found eating a banana before going to bed helped :)

A glass of tonic water kept mine at bay!

try a banana and glass of milk before bed. Potassium in the banana is supposed to help prevent cramps

Yy to tonic water and a little bit of salt like some crisps

Compression socks. Not sexy but it solved this and restless legs for me. I had a running pair rather than an old person in hospital pair and wore light baggy pjs on top so they didn't look too awful. You can get them leg warmer shaped without feet in them for summer.

Its apparently due to lack of potassium so you could try a banana before bed? I am getting this a lot too & find if i straiten my leg & point my toes back towards my knee (if that makes sense?!) just as the cramp is starting it stops it in its tracks. Hope it works for you too, cramp is a killer!

Banana can help, also make sure you're well hydrated.

If it hits really bad and you can't stretch it out, I found that holding ice wrapped in a towel can help soothe it.

I find that it starts when I point my toes downwards and stops when I point them up (so flat feet like Jellybeans said). This has been really counter intuitive for me, but does work.

I find by pushing weight onto the leg and flexing so first the heel is pressing into the floor, then the flat foot, then the ball it eases off. I do it sat on the edge of the bed.

This sounds crazy but put a cork in your bed....it really works!!
