Only feeling movement on one side?

From the start of feeling baby move, it was very low down. Below bikini line area.
Then as it grew started feeling more and more on the right hand side.
28 weeks now and still feel really low bikini line movements but also strong movements on the right.
Any idea what baby is doing?!
Saw midwife this week who said she hadn't a clue and as long as baby is moving she's not bothered.
I'm just nosy and want to know what's going on!
Thought I could feel babys head right under ribs but midwife had a feel and said could be head or bum.

Oh and can someone please just give me a slap and remind me not feeling anything on one side is fine and I don't need to worry?
Thanks Smile

My baby only kicks me on the left size, he is fine. He is head down but curled in to a ball and his feet are always on my left side.

Babies find positions they are comfy in and stay there pretty much, so I've been told.

First of all where is your placenta? With my first I had anterior placenta so I just felt him in one spot mostly.. Now I 22 weeks with second and have posterior placenta and so far feel the kicks in my right side but mostly bikini line. As baby is breech..

I think it is normal.

I was told they have preferred 'positions' to move in, and so long as they move daily (roughly when expected) all is good. :)

GingerRodgers · 19/06/2014 09:28

Yes I think it's definitely found its position!
I'd be a bit happier knowing which way up it was for sure but there's plenty of time left for that.
Posterior placenta apparently.

OP - same story here at 24 weeks. The placenta is anterior. My GP couldn't get a heartbeat & panicked! I told him to check on my left side & he found it. He thought it was unusual. Grin

I wouldn't worry about it, my baby has made himself comfy on the right side.and is always wriggling and kicking that side and I hardly ever feel him on the left. Your midwife should be able to tell you whether or not he or she is head down at your next appointment (mine did anyway) but there's still a bit of time for them to do a few summersaults between now and when they get ready :) I'm 36 weeks now and he's been on the right my whole pregnancy and my midwife has just said most baby's find a comfy spot and stick there when they run out of room

My baby is similar. Most movement felt low down, and to my right side. No-one is quite sure which way up baby is. MW thinks it's sort of oblique, diagonally from my right side downwards. I have a scan next weel at 36+4 to check.

DC2 was like this. Top left hand side I could feel her very clearly, she was oblique and breech so it was head and shoulders I could feel. Very occasionally I'd feel toes crunching in my hips (not so pleasant).

Have you had a go at belly mapping?
