wondering if anyone else has experienced/is experiencing this?
im now 14 weeks and had spotting/bleeding/gushing/clots since what feels like time began!
today at a scan, it was finally given a name, although id been a googler and already diagnosed myself! a bleed measuring 5x2cm was spotted on the scan. the doc said it should reabsorb but I think shes just sugarcoating the fact that I should expect to have to buy another new mattress, as ive now had 3 or 4 episodes of what I call 'waterfall bleeds'. NOT fun! they tend to be accompanied by decent sized clots too.
on top of this, im having my cervix measured on tuesday with a view to maybe stitching it up!
id love to hear off fellow sufferers or, even better, survivors of this evil!

Yes, I can sympathise. I'm 15+5 today and have been bleeding since 10+4, including two terrifying 'waterfall' bleeds (good term for it).

I've so far been given 3 possible causes. A blood clot on my cervix, a small sch and a low lying placenta. Very frustrating that they can't give a definitive and actually don't seem at all interested in finding the underlying cause. Just keep getting told to wait and hope it stops. I have other complications that make this a high risk pregnancy and even my consultant doesn't seem interested in the bleeding. Also having my cervix measured next week but told they may not put a stitch in whilst I'm bleeding.

Oh and bleeding can affect your NT bloods and result in a false high risk screening for downs etc. Ours was 1:25 but luckily Harmony results came back as very low risk.

Congratulations on your pregnancy. Hope everything works out for both of us Smile

Ah thanks ladies. Good to know I'm not alone! I had my first baby(almost 11 now!) at 29 weeks after waters breaking at 23 weeks. They think that was because of early pregnancy bleeding. Last baby(he's 2) I did have spotting-nothing line this tho-til about 20weeks and had him at 36 weeks. 36 I can live with!
Why I can't just have an easy, uncomplicated pregnancy is a mystery to me! As you said silverlinings, they don't seem to really give a damn why it's happening. It's just happening and there's basically beggar all they can do about it!
Annoying and, let's face it, pretty flippin scary at times!x

I had one that was discovered after an utterly mahoosive bleed at just after 11 weeks. It was heavier than any period I've ever had and that went on for a couple of days. Then I had a couple of weeks of constant brown blood. Mine was massive. Something like 10cmx10cmx3cm. It was still there at my 20 week scan and I googled far far too much which was stupid so I stressed about it constantly.

DS2 was born at 39+5 at home and totally oblivious to all the stress.

Hope it stops for you soon and you have a nice uneventful time for the rest of your pregnancy!
