I am just over 7 weeks with my 2nd child, and last time had horrendous nausea until about 36 weeks! It looks like the same this time, and is getting worse as I progress! Please help!! I usually have a very healthy diet; I cook everything from scratch, and have a large veggie garden too, but can't seem to stomach much at the moment! Any tips??? I have tried sickness bands, but they don't seem to have helped either!! ??

Ritz crackers by the fistful. Or plain crisps. I know not the healthiest but the only things that worked for my first pregnancy.

Sadly it was huge buttery croissants for my second.

Hope you feel better soon.

It was fruit that was great for me - melon/grapes/pineapple/mango.

Its such an individual thing, trial and error!

Swifey · 10/06/2014 21:53

Thanks! I will try those! Although will I be the size of a house soon??? Anything that you worked out made you feel worse, and therefor to avoid? X

I just had to eat often. Little and often. Sickness was when stomach was empty

FranksBobot · 10/06/2014 21:54

Lemonade, ice lollies and mints are currently the only things that settle my stomach slightly.

I have just got a load of fruit in, and will make some apple granola tomorrow, because I thought even if I can't stomach the honey, then maybe I could eat it dry!

Oh and I have to avoid dairy. Milk especially!!

Munxx · 10/06/2014 21:55

Belvita biscuits and digestives made me feel much worse. So did anything milky. Plain and salty food worked the best.

I found that I could only really eat properly at lunchtime so I would make sure I had a protein packed sandwich and plenty of fruit as come tea time I would be back picking at plain things again.

Swifey · 10/06/2014 21:56

Oh yes and about a gallon of sparkling water a day, although the trips to the loo are becoming more frequent. Anyone found it was worse when you were tired??

I found frozen grapes and tic tacs helped.

EvansOvalPiesYumYum · 10/06/2014 21:56

Would I be likely to be screamed at if I suggested freshly grated ginger and some plain boiled rice? (Just because ginger does work for nausea, generally and this is a well-known remedy for tummy upsets - it may be worth a go. Sorry - don't know what you've aready tried).

Whisper: PS - Ginger biscuits did the trick for me Sorry, but they did.

Seriously, do hope you feel better soon, it's awful feeling so dreadful, especially if you have another to look after as well. Flowers

NormHonal · 10/06/2014 21:58

PreggyPops (buy them from Amazon) saved me.

Oh, and bucket loads of Quavers.

And Ginger biscuits.

pod3030 · 10/06/2014 21:58

fizzy water, oatcakes, grapes, plain ready brek. Bicarb in water for settling the stomach (wait for the burp-ahhh)

insanityscatching · 10/06/2014 21:59

I lived on pickled onion space raiders and milky ways as they were the only things I could eat and keep down. I only put on 7lbs in total and dd weighed nearly 8lb. A week after giving birth I was 2 stone lighter than I was when I got pregnant Grin

JuniperTisane · 10/06/2014 22:00

I just nibbled crackers and small sips of milk. Which did fuck all except stop me actually hurling. I got the urge one morning at work to run and get some chewing gum and it made an instant difference.

Smartiepants79 · 10/06/2014 22:00

Plain carbs, crackers, rice cakes, corn cakes etc and watery fruit/veg.
Melon, cucumber were my favourites.
I then moved on to a junk food phase! High fat and lots of sugar.
I did find I coped better the second time round. Just knew what was coming!

chillychicken · 10/06/2014 22:01

Salt and vinegar crisps
Chocolate
Ice cream
Mango
Pineapple
Coco pops
Pasta
Plain boiled rice

MabelBee · 10/06/2014 22:02

Strong mints. More sleep.

SantanaLopez · 10/06/2014 22:02

Sucking lemon slices really helps me.

CoolCat2014 · 10/06/2014 22:02

Little and often, mostly toast and porridge and grapes and melons.

Anything with artificial colourings made me very sick. I could eat fruit pastels though, as they are made from fruit juices.

Hope you feel better soon!

Cakebaker35 · 10/06/2014 22:03

Cream crackers. Loads and loads. I practically turned into one.

whereisthewitch · 10/06/2014 22:04

Sorry but nothing helped me except medication.

Hope it is shirt lived for you OP!
